I just received my filter wrench MX2374 from MotivXTools and I must say the quality and fit is amazing! Beyond my expectations!

Cleaned out the area between the box and cab. On some trucks there is a felt pad that traps leaves and other debris.

There was a discussion on this a while back but I cant find it now. Some decided to remove the pad (sound deadening I think) but I just try to remember to clean it out occasionally.

Got the 5K oil change done. $74 at the stealership with $10 discount! A rip off, but I'll use them for everything until the extended warranty runs out in 18K more miles.

Thanks for the heads up Tony but it's the angle of the pictures that looks like it is out. But you made me second guess it and just looked in the garage to make sure. lol :whew:

That doesn't sound too bad. I just spent $41 on Mobil 1 Synthetic and $18 for a wix filter at our local O'Reillys.

And that was a 5qt jug so not enogh.

That's what I was thinking. They're $109 at my dealer.

I cleaned up the Ranger for a short trip to the cottage to pick up a few things I didn’t have room for on my last trip back. I thought it was looking pretty good…

But, then a big storm was forecast for the area so I decided to get some winter clothes on it…

Yes, I can feel every single lug in the tread.
Yes, it’s much noisier than the OEM setup.
Yes, it feels like I have an anchor tied to my hitch.
Yes, my gas mileage is going to suck.
Yes, my speedo is now out by about 6-7%.
Yes, size matters.

Now that's the Ranger I remember!
Yeah, me too Chuck! I went most of the Summer and Fall without the bigger tires, fender flares, and roof rack cases. I took the fender flares off because the rubber piping failed - I bought new, better piping but was diggin‘ the bit of poke the truck had (my paint didn’t dig it so much).

I swapped the OEM set on to see if the shimmy I was getting at around 80-85 mph was tire and wheel related because my extended warranty was about to expire. If it was drive-line, I’d be in the shop in a flash but it was 100% the tires/wheels. ?

Then, I was really diggin’ the gas mileage and chirping the tires, so I left the OEM set on for a while. It’s back to the way I like it most and now I can go flex on my new neighbour’s so-called “full-size” 2006 Tundra - man, it’s so small - can’t wait to park next to it. ?
