I had the oil changed at dealership today. Works Package plus cabin and engine air filters, tire balance in addition to my free rotation, and something new my new service writer said Ford now recommends: an oil conditioner and fuel system cleaner.

So for all that stuff in addition to my "free" works package, I spent $257.08.

Have any of you heard of this oil conditioner and fuel system cleaner stuff before? Oh. And my tire balance was $89.95 for the labor.

All I can think of to say now is dang!!!

Well, yesterday was my last day as a service advisor. The advisers get a kick-back from the manufacturer of the oil conditioner and fuel system cleaner for selling it. The jury is still out on whether it's worth a damn.

And she said specifically that "Ford recommends it".
Dang.
Sucker born every minute. Today it was me.
I miss my old service advisor already.

When I called Peoria Ford about my blend door I talked to this new service advisor. She was supposed to check on a few things for me and get back to me within an hour, and that was 6 weeks ago. I asked about Justin and she said he had moved up within the company. Needless to say I won't be going back there again. Don't beat yourself up about it they have a sneaky way of convincing you of things like this and we've all been there my friend.

I installed a BedRug! And parts of it are very fresh (judging from the stickers on it).

I also installed the missing middle tie-downs! Except the new ones I got from Levittown were glossy, but that's okay, I stuck those in the front under the tonneau cover.

The foreman was mighty pleased, even though it took me all afternoon ...

Shiny front tie down.

I gave it my awl to find the stoopid holes ...

Nice and fresh, no bedbugs in the BedRug!

I spent a few hours today working on a few items on my Ranger:
First, I added real screws to the inner fender shield so I can get to my oil filter easier (better than those plastic "screws" it came with):

Second, I installed this AWESOME front hitch from @Heavy Duty :

In order to mount this, I also had to relocate my ACC sensor, which was a royal PITA, but I finally did it, and it seems to still work. I ended up having to splice in wires to extend the wiring harness connector which I really hated to do, but it seems all is good. Relocating the ACC was a LOT more work than installing the hitch!

I'm really happy with all the changes!

Got this installed this morning. I wasn’t expecting it to be difficult and it was even easier than I did expect.
Excellent, let us know what you think after driving with it.

Hey Chris,

I don’t know for sure, but I’m thinking the scene went down something like this………

?

For $257.08, they should have changed your blinker fluid and re-calibrated your damper - but, then, you’re damper-free. ??????

That front hitch looks good on that truck, I'm glad you like it. :)
