I took Jims advise and went the direction he gave me. Now I will say I was reluctant because I found most people can not give good directions. This was NOT the case here as these were as detailed as I would write! Every single step was spot on!!

We skipped Smith and Edwards because I would've never got Annie out of there shopping. But the drive was really nice taking you through several small towns and up and over some incredible mountain passes and along the Logan River which has miles of tight switchbacks. I could drive this over and over it was so nice!

Then you get to the top at the scenic outlook where you can see all of Bear Lake. I wish it was a little clearer but we still got some nice views up there.

From there you head into ID then cross into WY into a small town called Afton. It's an old western town which has the worlds largest Elkhorn Arch spanning the downtown.

A few miles later you cross back into ID again and Took Jims suggestion again and skipped going to Jackson and drove straight through and along Palisades Reservoir. Another really nice winding road which runs along the reservoir. I was raining at the time so it was hard to get pics and of course Annie was sleeping. ?‍♂ But I was nice and woke her up when we got to the dam. lol

Dave, If you are able to go online suggest you check Dan Day at "Cowboystatedaily.com" for weather. He's excellent and accurate, looking ahead for the next day or two. Unfortunately for your trip it's been raining every day for the past two weeks and the forecast is for more of the same for at least 10 days. Now the rain we have in WY is not like other parts of the country, rarely do we get "gully washers," instead it will sprinkle with perhaps a short period of actual rain, then stop, repeating off and on throughout the day. Dress accordingly, hope for the best and try not to let it interfere too much with your holiday.
Jim, It does look like the next couple days are rain free. So we're going to heat to Grand Teton tomorrow and Monday to make sure we can get a few days in in case it changes again. You're right we hit a few showers but nothing torrential and now that we're here it's cleared up and is nice out. Thanks again for the suggestions and great directions I do appreciate it!

I'm still getting really great gas mileage even with all the mountain passes we've crossed.

This is from when I filled up just outside of Bear Lake to the cottage.

Just got to the AirBnb cottage we rented here in Victor, ID. I'm so glad I canceled the hotel in Jackson, WY and got this place. It's a great set up with zero neighbors close by and only about 3/4 mile to the center of town. Plus it was less money! ?

Thanks Tracy. I just started doing AirBnb's last year and they're (usually) so much better than hotels and cheaper too. What I do now is rent a hotel through booking.com because you can reserve the room for no money down and can cancel within 24 hours of arrival. Then about 2 weeks before I start checking the AirBnb sight for places. They usually discount them the closer it gets to your date. So if you can't find anything you still have your hotel. We have a whole house I rented in Glacier for $200 less than a hotel. Yes, the Polish in me really shows at times. ? ??

I've been running premium since I got it. Not sure how much a difference it makes but it seems like I'm getting really good mileage from what others with Tremors have posted. Plus I'm use to using it with my tune and I'll probably transfer my Livernois tune once I get back.

Think there’s a touch of Yankee skinflint in there too still. ?
