Thanks Steve. It is a great area and we're really looking forward to going back there and seeing all the sights we missed last year. One thing we really wanted to do was go to Mt. Rushmore at night for the ceremony. We did it during the day but never made it back there at night.
Been there for the night show way back some years. But yes it is really cool. :like:

Yeah its been a while since we were at the Black Hills but the night lighting ceremony was a must see. Deadwood was disappointing then and I don't suppose it's gotten any better. They had turner pretty much the town into an open air casino. Lots of other things to do and see in the area. The drive up Spearfish canyon is scenic, so is the needles loop.

Hope Logan pass is open when you get to Glacier. Going to the Sun is a must see there. I was 6 with my folks the last time I was there, 64 years ago. Now you need vehicle reservations to drive it.

Have a great and safe trip. Take lots of pictures.

:stop: Now before anyone gets any ideas of throwing another house party (yes, I’m looking at your Duke & Larry!) ? I added the ultimate security. At first I was going to construct a 10’ high wired fence around the perimeter of my house or hire a few armed guards.

 But then I thought this would be much cheaper and be more effective at keeping people away. ? ?

with AZ cutting new construction due to low water level I see youl brought your own in.

We stopped up in Flagstaff for breakfast at one of our favorite spots up here Martanne’s. They always have really good food and a fair price. I know Phil is up here but we have a long drive ahead up to Salina, UT. We might be coming back to Flagstaff at the end of our trip (we’ll see how much money is left after 4 weeks of shopping ?) for a few days so I’ll have more time then. Besides I think he might have his hands full as I saw Tito walking down RT66 headed towards the local brewery. ?

Wow, how fast the year flew by as we’re heading out this morning on the start of another month long trip. We’ll be stopping later today in a small town in Utah called Salina to rest overnight then Saturday driving up the Grand Teton National Park for 6 days. Of course they had to have record snowfall this year but it’ll be fun no matter what. Maybe I’ll get a chance to get MP2 out in the snow?? The weather right now doesn't look to promising as they're showing rain from Monday -Thursday but I hope they're wrong as they usually are.

This trip will be a little different than last years where we were on the go 28 days out of the 30. The first 14 we’ll still be on the go between Grand Teton NP and Glacier NP but then we’re heading back to South Dakota where I rented a log cabin for 2 weeks at a small resort in Hill City. We really loved it there last year and there was so much we still wanted to do and see. So now we can relax a little more once we’re there as we did a lot there last year. But I always find something to side track us along the way which I'm sure will happen again. There's so much to see in this beautiful country! Thanks again for all the suggestions and info as it really helps in planning for this.
Sounds like a great trip!! Be Safe.
P.S. take and send a lot of pictures.

Just got to our first hotel here in Salina, UT. Hit a few pockets of rain but nothing bad, just enough to get my truck dirty. There's really not a lot great sights along this route (89A) which takes you most of the way up here from Flagstaff. We did stop at the Glenn Canyon Dam in Page, AZ. Lake Powell feeds it and continues on into Horseshoe Bend which we've already seen before.

Just past the bridge about a mile or so is Horseshoe Bend.
