must be why the shop book tells you to remove the fuel lines first to remove #4 coil pack
Which one in the shop manual? I followed the link to the 303-01 and extracted the files, but can't find which one it's in?

did you check the pins in the connector to see if one bent a little while removing an reinstalling.
I did look at both the plug/pins in the coil pack and the harness. Both look straight/normal.

No luck again... tried it again.

Ignition is 303-07
I tried downloading the 310-0 fuel systems and all the files are 0 bytes and say not a valid pdf file. It refers to that shop manual on how to take the low pressure fuel connector off. Does it work for anyone else?

So pics in order,
Plug in, coil pack, fuel pump in the way, twist and go around hard lines, under the hard line, secured as far as I can go and that the but will go. You can feel its on the plug when you pull up it has resistance like its grabbing the plug. Coil plug attached.

nice place for them to put that fuel pump, that could have probably have been designed a bit better.

you said you swapped coils and exchanged the plugs and the problem has stayed on No 4 so sounds like the connector or wiring

Here is a link from TRS with the P/N and some more diagrams
https://www.therangerstation.com/ra...ost-ignition-coil-spark-plug-removal-install/
Thats what I'm thinking. Because I swapped coils from 4 to 3 and the misfire stayed on 4. Swapped plugs, swapped back to factory plug in known good working condition, still on #4.

Shit. Maybe I'll have ford look at it. I didnt do anything that would void my warranty. Its not tuned, yet. I was going to upload the tune after confirming the plugs were running well.

So wiring or the plug is my bet.

Try putting the original plug back in and see...you might have a bad plug?

I did put the factory plug back in number 4 only, and still misfiring.
With all the combinations tried to this point it makes the connector or immediate wiring close to it suspect. Seeing that you swapped coils it doesn’t sound like a bent pin in receiver

Also look closely at connector and make sure each crimp is intact and seated all the way in

All factory plugs back in. Calling for a tow tomorrow after work. I am not tuned yet, so I think there is 0 excuse to deny warranty coverage.

Plug connections can be very finicky (extensive experience working on ze Germans). Make sure the wiring plug is COMPLETELY seated to the coil, push HARD.

I'm assuming you have a CEL/ code telling you about the misfire? Are you resetting/clearing the codes(s) after every attempted fix? If not you may have at one point corrected the problem and didn't even know it.

I did twice. But it still runs rough. Not going on just going on the CEL but ya. I can try resetting again after work.
