2019 ranger. Had incident where truck wouldnt start, no starter engage, only several waring light, including” wrench”, “Precollision assist” and others. Shut down, tried restarting and same thing. After trying several times it started. I drove 60 miles to home. Shut down, and tried to start and it started no problem. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

This event is 2 sided:
No power anything
And
All door lock and dash normal, but dead on start attempts
Both appear to be a 10 minute max event then magically normal
I have been looking deep into this, I am certain of a sticking relay
Can anyone think of a timed event that’s 10 minutes on the truck

The one I am looking at is the accessory relay or PCM power relay.
There are quite a few variables here, and so many things have constant 12 volt power until a ground is supplied- open door etc, I may never find it, but it is a quest to find the common.
Pats system or TCU or RTM or a relay is getting lost and about 10 minutes or so , it resets itself- Hmmm

Out of my depth somewhat(ok a lot), but under certain conditions, there seems to be a fuel-return-to-tank-cycle roughly 10 min. after the ignition is shut off (or the truck is not started 10 min after the pre-charge sequence), that sounds like the pre-charge when you open the door.
Another is the accessories are powered off roughly 10 min after the ignition is switched off.

It is original. Everything started fine this morning.

I had this happen to me after only owning the truck 2 weeks. We left the truck unlocked and when
we got inside I noticed there were no lights and the screen wasn't lit up. So we were in the process of going to try to jump start it when we heard a few relays clicking. Stopped and put the key in and it started up. It has not happened to me since and the techs I work with at the dealership here are all lost, and have not seen or heard of it happening before.

At this point , we’re you just by the truck with the FOB?
Was the hood open?
Performing any action on the truck?

One of my thoughts on this is timing of the event with the TCU shutting down during a SYNC update? Or the TCU in the middle of a update to Ford Pass on truck current status.
At the exact same time you want to start it.
The truck might be getting a one track mind and gets lost as to what it is supposed to be doing.

But most likely it is a relay or module that gets stuck during the - hey wake up, turn on the dash lights etc as the drivers door opens.
I am pretty certain it is on the wake up circuit somewhere.

Some noted possibly items are:
The Accessory relay circuit - Timed 10 minutes
Central Lock / Unlock relay circuit-this circuit is the automatic lock of the doors when you start driving, if the relay is stuck then the truck door lock system might not operate when door opens.
PATS - not seeing a valid key.

I hope to eventually find the cause but with so many relays and modules it’s hard to narrow down to- Look at me

Those batteries can get quirky after a few years , they dont seem to just start "dying " and crank slow , but causes crazy warnings and unresponsive trucks, you may be due , if it happens again...
Agree. I saw that on my previous Tacoma. It wasn't just "dead". It started getting kind of wonky and causing electrical issues for a while prior to totally dying.

Run this by your fellow Ford Tech's and see if I am possibly on the right track for this mystery.
