  1. Rangers in SNOW

Hey I grew up in western NE (near Scottsbluff). I live in northern Wisconsin now but still have some family scattered around out there.
  2. Havent seen this posted yet but looks like ford may be increasing ranger production.

I see the value in EVs if I lived in a city maybe or if I at least was married and as a second car. I live in rural northern Wisconsin and I am single. I need range and I need something that can handle cold. And I cannot be waiting 3 hours for a charge. A hybrid I could for sure go for, but...
  3. First emergency braking event... Ranger wins my heart!

Yeah man it saved me once. This psycho lady in a subaru slammed on her brakes in front of me for no reason when a light turned green. She started then just stopped. That alarm saved me as I couldn't have been more than an inch or two from hitting her. Wasn't life saving, but saved me a...
  4. 4wd L vs 4wd H

I remember I was stationed in Georgia and this dude had a brand new Tacoma and it was bone dry out and he had it it in 4wd and it sounded horrible. He had no idea about the binding. I don't blame him I guess he had never had a truck he told me. I told him dude go read the owners manual and do...
  5. Dash Rattle, Help!

Agree. I had a rattle I was looking all over..and what it was is the visor I hadn't clipped it back in after using it. I was losing my mind, but I couldn't determine where it was coming from. I thought it was the dash. It didn't seem to be coming from above me.
  6. Clicking sound w/heat

"Designed to make it to 38K".
  7. Clicking sound w/heat

Thank you Thank you for the reply. Yeah I just hit 38K miles (ofcourse). I will look into the video and see what I can do. Not really in the mood to shell out 3k. I will look into those other posts as well. Thank you again!
  8. Clicking sound w/heat

Hey my 2020 Ranger I has started noticing a clicking sound when the heat is on. It isn't related to the blower on high or low. Just if it is on or not. And it isn't all the time. Sometimes it isn't happening then sometimes it does. Sometimes one click sometimes a bunch in a row. Anybody had...
  9. Long term reliability of the 2.3

Do you keep your trucks 15 years? People talk about reliability like the engines blow up at 50K miles. Or they talk about "long term reliability" and they sell the truck 4 years in. No one on here is going to convince you of anything. You clearly feel the turbo will fail. All we can do is...
  10. Honda Attempts Suicide By Ranger

When I retired from the military last year I moved to northern Wisconsin from South Carolina. Winter is intense, but I take a 10 day warm vacay end of Jan. Loving the ease of small town life.
  11. Anyone say, I should have purchased a different truck?

Agree man. I sold my '14 Tacoma TRD Off Road and got a Ranger Lariat FX4. The powertrain is a gazillion times better. Low end torque is so nice. And the comfort level..I am 6'3 and I am not claustrophobic In it like the Taco. I am at 40K miles. Mine has no squeaks or anything. I do a lot...
  12. Another Ranger gone too soon......

I had a 2003 Ranger and I was hit by a drunk driver. Insurance wanted it fixed and it was...and it was never the same. Stuff just wasn't right. If ever I get in an accident from this point forward unless it is very very mild I am pushing hard for it to be totaled.
  13. Ranger vs Wild Pig

I had a crazy incident once. I was living in Nebraska at the time and I was on I-80 and I was passing a semi and all of the sudden I had this pink mist all over my truck. I was like WTH? I thought it was some hydraulic thing had exploded. Well the semi hit a deer head on and I couldn't see it...
  14. Who came from Tacoma?

I had a 2014 Taco Off Road. Good - Resale. Bad - I am 6'3 and it was so uncomfortable. I would sit and I was looking through the shaded part of the windshield. I actually got claustrophobic in it. When I would pull up to stop lights I would have to bend my head down to see the light...
  15. For those with Tremor Package

Agree. I live in northern Wisconsin and there is this 15 mile stretch I drive often. It is totally flat and if I set cruise on 60 (in summer) I can get my averages up to 25+. I don't have tremor, just FX4.
  16. Trouble Starting

Agree. I saw that on my previous Tacoma. It wasn't just "dead". It started getting kind of wonky and causing electrical issues for a while prior to totally dying.
  17. 3,500 Mile Comparison: Taco v Ranger

Agree. I had a 2014 Taco TRD Off Road and sold it for Ranger. All I know is the Ranger is better in every way I can even think of. Engine, transmission, comfort (specifically seats and sitting position), stereo, headlights. And I had two warranty repairs on my taco under 36K miles and my...
  18. Anyvody here driven a Maverick and Ranger back to back?

I am a retired military RN and now work at a civilian hospital. All I can say is I avoid medications for myself at all cost. If I need an ibuprofen or something sure, but overall I avoid them. I am not saying they are not needed or don't help at times, but if I don't absolutely need it I stay...
  19. Anyvody here driven a Maverick and Ranger back to back?

I agree about the transmission. I don't get the complaints because I came from a Tacoma.TRD Off Road and that transmission was horrible. I guess it was "reliable", but my Ranger is 1000 times more comfortable, has a much better and responsive powertrain, and I feel it is night and day better...
  20. 2024 Tacoma – Here's The New Competition! 🥊 Now With Hybrid Model

Agree. I think the interior looks ridiculous. I owned a '12 Tacoma TRD off road. Reliable..sure....so are 99% of vehicles these days. The seating position was horrible and the powertrain was horrible. I like my Ranger and I like the new Ranger. If not those I would go with the Nissan...
