the lack of a tranny dipstick really made me angry (to say the least) but if Ford don't want me to check it , so be it ...
I'm thinking ford doesn't want us to "service" the transmission. Making income for the dealers.

Been under there more than once , and will again , but alas , I shant be checking any dipsticks that could ,and have been in the past , conveniently located up top, ...somewhere near the oil one would be fine...and from what im reading on here it wouldn't do anygood anyway if I could get the damn thing out , have to go to tech school to read it properly ... Its Fords baby 2027, ill never hit the milage and probably have a differant Ranger by then , If things get back to normal ...
Christ, you're a stubborn son of a bitch, aren't cha?

Is that wrong ? More being vocal might have prevented its removal in the first place , oil dipstick may be next ... And your kinda talkin' bout my mom with the sob , did you know her ? Spot on....

Yes, it is. It's quite simple to do, the hardest part is getting under there.

And if you're that concerned, get the B&M dipstick.

Somethings in life you just have no control over and have to deal with.

No amount of bitching will change it, or any future plans to remove an oil dipstick.

Well it doesn't work on me either , so your bitching about my bitching is an extra layer of unneeded bitching... Perhaps ,Take your own advice? I can't stop (for medical reasons) be the bigger man ? Or ignore ?

they also make note of a cold level check, where its safe to drive, but its not your final destination. they still want you to drive it till its hot and check it, and i hope this isnt where the other members got this idea....you're likely still low on fluid at this point....

Based on this mine would not have even shown on the dipstick when it was cold. I remember they said it was just below 6 when hot and took almost 2 qts (1.75-1.8) to bring it up to 4.

My son in law had a late 90's early 00's T-Bird. No dip stick for trans anywhere. The only way to check it was to remove two plugs form beneath. Then pump fluid in the first until it came out the second hole.
