Even left the engine cover, mudflaps, and bug shield on. 4,712 miles on just under 2 years. Still has a year left of factory warranty for the next buyer. Upgraded back to a F150. Kids and wife said they were too cramped. Going to miss it! It is up at Echelon Ford in NJ certified pre-owned.

I don’t think you thought this all the way through. You should have asked how much they would offer you for your wife and kids. ;)

4,712 miles in under 2 years? Do you even need a truck?

Don’t know if I’d say “upgrade”

f150 is a different vehicle than a ranger. Different use case.

Would you consider an f550 an upgrade just because it’s bigger? Maybe a peterbuilt?

is a suburban an upgrade over a corvette ?

I think most people driving a Ranger could switch to an f150 and they could make that a cost neutral transaction. I certainly don’t think it’s an upgrade. Downgrade in a lot of ways.

I think its an upgrade because it fits his family better and he likes it more better-er because of that.
If he thinks it's an upgrade for whatever reason, then it is an upgrade.

Congrats on the upgrade...enjoy to the fullest!

Might be my next move... :)

Did you buy a new F150 or used. What trim did you get?

Irregardless if it's bigger or smaller, Ford doesn't put nearly the engineering and thought into the Ranger that they do to the F series. If you think the F series is a downgrade to the Ranger, so be it. Coming from the Ford engineering community, I don't agree. At least a Peterbuilt has heat in the drivers foot well. Just sayin'.

Yes it's a major downgrade from an F150 to a Ranger (Lariat to Lariat). I like driving the Ranger but miss everything the F150 one had to offer. I guess if you drove a small truck like the ranger most of you life and went to the F150 it would seem to large of a truck.

Depends on the use case, off-road towing (where you can't use a weight distributing hitch) the Ranger is more capable, F-150 is limited to 5,000lb in those conditions while the Ranger is rated to 7,500lb there. Not saying you should ever be near that max, and that is likely a very small group that would benefit from the Ranger over F-150 for that use. On road towing where the WD hitch can be used the F-150 will normally out rate the Ranger. Payload, not much difference, trim and options and they overlap some. Interior room, F-150 all day.

Agree, that to OP, it is an upgrade for them, but in no way does that mean the F-150 would be an upgrade for everyone.

I like the ranger for its size, and the current F150 is enormous. Current ranger is closer in size to an early 2000's Tundra for perspective.
