I was just curious if anybody runs with the tow mode on all the time. It seems like my transmission shifts better and it doesn't feel "luggy" at lower speeds when I do.

After push to start, the tow mode button gets hit.....every time !!! Shifts better, and gets rid of the stupid stop/start every time you come to a stop.
Obviously use it when towing, but it does shift much better when driving solo, without a trailer.

When I had my 2019 Ranger I did run tow mode off and even without it load. Having the lift and 33s it did seem to make a difference. Then again I also lived in the Colorado Rockies at that time

All the time...except when I'm on a level straight highway...or when I forget...

I have the Livernois high octane tune and drive about 50% in tow mode. I turn it off when going down hill because it is way too aggressive with engine braking.

Im in WV , the hills do mess with it pretty bad sometimes... chirps the rear tires even ... my perfect tune would be "tow mode without the engine brakes" , but I'm afraid to tune it under warranty as I am the one guy they would use it against to deny a warranty claim...

Since I've owned it , 2021, tow or sport, NEVER DRIVE !... mine is horrible in "D" ... its in 7th gear before I can exit my garage...
That’s pretty funny!
The worst part is that you’re not really exaggerating either lol

I think that’s a perfect comment and I just had to say something

I had mine refreshed early on as part of a TSB. Most of the time it shifts smoothly in D going 1-2-4-6-78910. It was doing 1-3-SLAM 5-678910. Once in a great while it will revert to the hard 5 pattern., but not as rough. Slow n go and/or 4H, I use Trailer tow.

10-4 on the downshifts. The factory pattern should be TT and activating TT would add in the downshifts.

I had my tranny reprogrammed by Torrie at Unleashed tuning. I only use Tow Mode when towing my camper and haven't used Sport in at least a couple of years.
The Sport mode shift strategy is garbage in that tune. Jerky not smooth and responsive, part throttle shifts are way too hard. It's like someone just turned up the line pressure and said, yep, that'll fking do.

Tow/Haul Mode always. Start, shift to D, hit the Tow/Haul button. Eliminates most of the lugging and sluggishness.

On the open highway, I've tried going back to normal Drive mode, but it lugs too much on the uphill grades.

I use Sport Mode (manual shift) for an occasional spirited romp on curvy mountain roads.

That's called the Unleased tune with @TORQUERULES shift strategy.

but I'm afraid to tune it under warranty as I am the one guy they would use it against to deny a warranty claim...
They have to prove the tune caused the failure, but I understand your concern.
