I tried the tow/haul mode for a couple of tanks and found negligible differences...mostly in town I will admit the truck feels better in tow mode and in the highway it will stay out of 10th gear until about 70 mph. My calculated average since I bought the truck is 21 MPG (73% city 25% 2% towing various boats). During my tow haul test I got 16.9 MPG city and 17.3 city in D.
The most important thing in getting good mpg's is limiting stops; so I noticed that driving to/from work, if I take the shorter route (but more traffic lights) my MPG is worse than if I take the longer (three tl's in 4.5 miles vs five tl's in 3 miles)
