Yes? I've driven with different tires in the past that make these seem pretty quiet. Can I assume you're running with the cold psi recommended?

Welcome to the oh so wonderful BFG KO2 knockoff tires!! In general the General Grabber ATX may do ok on the street and OffRoad but in reality it's simply a KO2 knockoff. It doesnt have as many sipes as the KO2(and it doesn't have mu either) and due to the tread pattern it is expected to get louder than normal road noise from the tires.
With that said All-Terrain tires and Mud-Terrain tires will have more road noise compared to a regular All-Season tire in general(some tires are better or worse than others).
Assuming you actually go OffRoad I say run what you have and consider going to a different tire of your liking when they wear out. If you dont bother with OffRoad then I suggest getting a good All-Season and you will fix the noise issue while most likely improving traction on the Street.

Grabbers are garbage. My Tremor was quiet for the first 3000 miles then gradually cupped to a point where they were annoyingly loud and whiney. Ford replaced mine under warranty and the K02s are whisper quiet in comparison, are so much better off road and sling fewer rocks in dirt. Plus. I think they look better, but thats just me.

most off road type of tires make noise. not true in every case but typically the more comfy, good in rain, and quiet a tire is the worse it is for off road. the louder, rough and wet road nightmares are great off road lol. finding a good compromise is tough. id say have the tires balanced and rotated, check the air pres. and if all checks out ignore the noise till your ready for tires.

Yes, aggressive tires tend to be noisy on the road. Turn up the tunes and all is fine.

I've had some aggressive treads that were actually quiet, the Patagonias come to mind.
Some were very noisy like the Coopers my Aunt runs on her Ranch vehicles.
It just depends on the design.

They are definitely louder than the stock tires that came with my truck but I was expecting that. Make sure your tire pressure is at the recommended pressure stated on your door sticker. They may have been delivered with 40 PSI or more and that could be making them louder as well.
Otherwise, it’s likely just their aggressive tread design telling us they want to go off-road.

I have to respectfully disagree with some folks on here. There are some quality, quiet and well performing tires out there. No reason to deal with the howl. Like I said, the K02s are whisper quiet. The Grabbers were pretty quiet until they started to cup on the edges...at 15000 miles. Tire pressure affects the noise slightly, with lower pressures actually increasing the noise on mine, not decreasing like others have mentioned. A properly inflated tire is the way to go... with 39 psi as the door label says being the quietest IMHO.

Most all terrains are going to have a decent amount of howl/roar. My duratrac's are quiet up to about 40 (depending on the surface), they're quite noticable at highway speeds but assuming you have the radio on its pretty much a non-issue. I have more of an issue with the wind noise at 75+...
