I did a stupid thing and lost my tire pressure sensors in a trade. I know, i know. The dealer wants to charge me $700 to replace them. I see the TPMS sensors all over amazon and ebay for under $100. I was wondering if anyone has any experience with aftermarket sensors and re-learning? Any suggestions would help greatly. Thank you.

Any tire shop should be able to do this for around $200. My aftermarket wheels have aftermarket sensors - work as expected.

Maybe our @Discount Tire sponsor can hook you up with one of their shops in your area.

Any of our Discount Tire locations can install a TPMS sensor for you.
I have had America's Tire Store install aftermarket sensors for me in the past and they worked just fine.

I have a question do they have to use Forscan to program them? I use my phone to check my pressure but use a real good air gage to fine tune the tires. Thanks,

I ordered a genuine OEM Ford sensor off of Amazon and had Discount Tire install it in the new matching spare I bought when I had them mount a new tire. Just over $100 for a set of 4 OEM sensors there: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01LZ2Y1DW

If you have OEM sensors, no programming is needed at all. They just work. I can't speak to aftermarkets, though...

I have mostly given up on the OEM sensors after switching wheels for the lift. I still use them when airing up after going off-road because they update more quickly than the after market TPMS. That having been said, I am very happy with over-the-road use of the Pressure Pro setup, especially because they give temperature in addition to pressure, which helps for determining proper inflation and also (latent) indicator of brake overheating when coming down steep grades. Here's what I bought (plus a couple extras for the trailer and spare): https://www.etrailer.com/TPMS-Sensor/JR-Products/372FX4K.html

You do the Ford relearn procedure and it works great! I can't recall it off the top of my head, but you should be able to find it outline. No tools needed. I did the CHEAP amazon sensors and had 1 bad unit. :(

And I do have a TPMS tool but it really just wakes them up, shows the serial numbers and battery life.
