Four years ago today I bought MP1 and joined this forum. I really never cared for online forums and do not do any social media like Facebook or Instagram because they’re all pretty toxic. Plus after coming from a Tacoma and dealing with Tacoma World ? I wasn’t getting my hopes up to high with the Ranger forum. But I noticed right away most here were very friendly and welcoming and it really was different. It became a fun place and as time went by I found myself on here more and more, obviously. lol

There’s been some ups and downs but a lot of good times too. There’s a wealth of information on here and always someone willing to jump in and help another out whether it be advise, a helping hand on an instal or just moral support for someone going through a tough time. With all the BS in the world today it makes me happy seeing this as I believe there are still many good people out there. We don’t always agree on everything or what others do/say but for the most part it remains respectful here. Overall R5G is a very fun, friendly place and we have some of the best people who I’m glad to be able to call friends!

I gotta say I'm loving MP2 just as much as MP1!!

"Time flies by fast" unless you're waiting for your dampened tailgate to fall.... lol

This is a pretty good forum. I'm only on one other forum and it's a toxic nightmare. Constant fighting, name calling and personal attacks.

I also have a FB account, but don't really use it. I post dog photos, and puppies for adoption when I have a litter.

I see my friends FB accounts and that's enough for me. Annies daughter is a Twitter queen and is glued to that darn app! ?‍♂

i find it odd you had issues with tw since ive been on it for years and had no issues with it. im still more active on it then this forum... this one is kinda boring i guess but that might have to be with how different the forums are.

this one is sometimes more laid back and people talking like its facebook and making loads of new threads because why not.

vs

tw has always been purpose setup on threads and to use the search function over just making loads of new threads on stuff that already exist.

but that is what ive noticed from my point of view

Happy Anniversary, Dave!

So how much do you think this forum has cost you over these four years? ?

Honestly I haven't been back in there since '16, maybe it's changed? Also I was only in the 3rd Gen section so maybe the 1st/2nd Gens were better.

This one is made up of more "older" members so maybe that's why you feel it's more laid back. Remember, we need our afternoon naps most days. ??

Girlfriend.

? Don't tell her, she's been hinting around for a ring now. ?:surprised:
Well, don't tell her about my wife's policy. Every dollar I spend on my 68 Cutlass and my 21 Tremor is equaled by a contribution to her jewelry fund.

Your girlfriend is going to want a BIG ring.

the 3rd gen section is a dumpsterfire so that is true for the "what have you done to your 3rd gen today". the good thing about the forum is just about everyone is helpful when it comes to mods or questions unleeess its been asked a thousand times then people get tired of it lmao so a bit of hazing shows up.

that is true it is odd being younger in here lmao. hey sometimes those after work naps are nice haha especially for me atm i just went first shift after 12 years of being on 2nd haha

Great comments and insight. I started seeking out owner forum type pages back with motorcycles. Now I am on one for every vehicle I own. Knowledge, accessories, issues, fixes, part of the team attitude...it's all part of the Group. I appreciate this page very much and thanks for helping to manage it!
