There is also the Global spring pack, Ford gave the rest of the world a nice multi leaf spring, not in the U.S. though.

Some members here have them, including myself, I actually think overall the Global ones may be even softer than the Tremor ones, I know they definitely are over speed bumps.

There is a recent post on them:

APG may be overkill for what you are looking for, with that being said I have a 21 Tremor that has the APG Midrunner kit on it. Loved the ride with the tremor leafs, it was smoother in the city compared to the APGs, APG gives it more of a stiff ride over small city bumps but will eat a curb or speed bump going 20+mph. If you do any significant off road driving the APGs are worth it, honestly just rebranded deavers. It’s a progressive 11 pack leaf spring compared to the 4 pack the tremor has. The stock leafs on the Rangers are a single leaf with a bottom out of I’m not mistaken. Rode in a stock fx4 and I can tell you I will never do it again. You can find tremor take offs if your lucky, or if you have the cash then APG is worth it in my opinion.

My STX ride is Cadilac levels compared to my former '95 F150 and '99 B4000.
I'd like to take a ride in a Tremor, or in a Ranger with modded suspension for comparison.
I may even do the rear shocks for a start, can't hurt, can it?

I haven't driven an FX4 so not sure how it compares but I love how my Tremor rides. You feel the road and bumps but the suspension recovers instantly when you hit a big bump and overall it feels like it just floats down the road. Honestly I don't know how it could be better on road driving for a mid size pickup.

I drove literally every variation of a crew cab Ranger (2WD, 4WD, FX4, Tremor) that I knew of before buying the Tremor. To be perfectly honest, I did not dislike the ride in any of them, but I did think that the Tremor had a significantly better ride than any of them.

When I started shopping for a Ranger 4WD was on my "nice to have" list. Now that I have a Tremor, I want to drive as far off grid as possible, traversing gnarly terrain and sleep under the stars. I guess when a truck exceeds your needs, your needs change. ?

So if I wanted to swap in fox suspension and the tremor leaf pack to my 2019 FX4, would that lower my payload or tow capacity?

my crew cab FX4 has a payload capacity of somewhere in the 1400#’s. That’s already a bit of a bottleneck with a TT.

I want this better ride for my DD that you all speak of, but don’t wanna kill the towing ability.

I don't think it will affect anything. If you look at the specs for the Ranger crew cab there is no distinction between the Tremor and a standard Ranger. The Tremor does show a slightly lower max. payload but that is probably due the added equipment on the Tremor package. The GVWR is the same, as is the GCVWR. The max. payload on your sticker is really just the GVWR minus the curb weight of your truck from the factory. Every truck will be different. The only thing that will reduce your payload are adding weight to your truck with mods.

Oh great point on the GVWR and GCVWR! I was reading on some of the other threads about the stock leaf springs (non tremor), and the discussion centered around them being so stiff so Ford could get the great payload numbers. You all really have me interested in Fox suspension and tremor leaf springs. There’s a lot to keep track of with all that, the suspension travel, the bump stops, etc. The GVWR/GCVWR certainly helps to simplify it for me (the layman as I am).

How do you like your Tremor leaf springs? I've got a Lariat FX4 and want a soft, smooth progressive rear leaf pack. Looking at Icons, APG and the Tremor packs. I don't haul a lot of weight (usually <500lbs on the rare occasion I do - truck is mostly a mountain bike hauler), and I never tow. I don't want to alter rear ride height, just want something less jarring. How are the Tremor leaf packs?
A little late to the ballgame on this one, and I really have no baseline for comparison as the Tremor is the first truck I've owned. I will say the ride is incredibly smooth and feels super dialed in. My 74 year old mother even commented on how comfortable the ride is. My wife enjoys driving it, too. I would like to drive an FX4, just for comparison sake, which I imagine would make me appreciate the Tremor even more.
