Since some did request it here is the replacement! I just picked it up this morning. This is the 2012 Nissan Frontier Pro 4X that I got. It is loaded. Has mentioned before it does not have remote start but that's going to be fixed probably tomorrow once I get the kit in. Also one thing it doesn't have which surprised me but yet kind of relieved me is it doesn't have auto air conditioning. As nice as that can be I like good old manual air.

Obviously this particular truck is not perfect since it has 122,000 mi on it and 12 years old, but I plan to have a lot of fun with this truck. It's already nice getting back into something that has some actual power unlike my 93 Pathfinder lol

Oh for a second thought you traded the ranger for a 2012 model year vehicle and was like "That's a choice".

Honestly that thing will probably outlast our rangers anyway. Good find.
The fact that you forgot about the Ranger getting in a fight with Ground Beef is hilarious!!

As for what will last longer? Who can truly say. So far I am liking it and it will have some changes over time. At the moment I have some other priorities

Not sure what smashing a cow has to do with my remark?
The fact that you forgot and somehow thought that I traded the Ranger in. Don't get me wrong, I still miss that truck

I put 244k on my 2010 Frontier 4x4. It was my daily until I traded it in on the Ranger last year. Change the oil regularly, replace a few sensors and change diff/transfer case and auto trans fluid per factory suggestions and that thing will be incredibly reliable.

Glad you found a replacement. My '19 Ranger was the first vehicle I owned with auto climate control. I didn't like how they blasted at full fan on start up. I set it to manual so I controlled the fan an it just kept the temp I set it to an I liked that feature. I kinda miss it on the bronco, I forgot how often I had to adjust the temp during a freezing drive to work an a/c drive home. I tried to go with minimal options to keep the price down an the reliability up.

Some manufacturers can't seem to keep the Auto Air working correctly . Nissan is one of them. I will also agree that the Ranger was the first with Auto Air. In a way it was nice, but I was still so so on it

I won't argue that they are reliable when taken care of. That said I suspect the transmission was not serviced, so we shall see how that goes.

Does that have the VQ40DE? That's the engine I had in my 2006 Pathfinder and it lasted 210,000 miles until the timing chain started whining. I could have changed the whole system out including the water pump in the middle for iirc $450 but I traded it in for the Ranger instead. It was a good truck but mounting problems at that point I decided to cut out while I was ahead. They gave me a $1500 credit for it.

That is the one. Thankfully being a 2012 it won't have the timing chain whine problem that you speak of. I am familiar with it as I learned about it real quick. I even got to do a set or two and it kicked my ass. That said it only applied to model years from 2005 to 2010. Some issue with the secondary chains being a bit to sharp cutting into the tensioner pads

Before getting into a Ranger, I looked into the Frontier. One of the things that had me interested was the old tech, not as much 'lectronics.
