I'm shocked they didn't have this one on the list? ?

This one really confounded me. I kept getting my left foot caught up in the steering wheel until I figured it out.........:)

Here's a old LEO war story, but I gotta tell it. Stopped an elderly lady one night for not dimming her headlights for oncoming vehicles. I explained to her that she needed to dim her headlights when meeting vehicles at night. That sweet lady looked up at me and said, "I'm sorry sir, I don't know what you mean." So, I had her look at the little high beam indicator on the dash, shined my flashlight on that little button , and told her to push it with her left foot. And here it came, the light on the dash went out, the headlight went to low beams, and she looked up at me and said, "Well, I never".

For those of you that are not of southern decent, "Well, I never" means/meant the person didn't know about the subject at hand. :)

There are a few oldie options, not many here would even know about. To wit:

Some mid 50s Chrysler models were available with a real turntable!

The mid 50s, also brought us both Ford and Chryslers with a vacuum ash tray.

Some 60s VW were sold with mini-cassette players.

How about swivel front seats, or square steering wheels?

Trunk mounted air-conditioning, used to be the rage at GM in the late 40s and early 50s.

The first vehicle FM was introduced in 1953, and the first stereo in 1955.

With all the rage in AC power these days, it is interesting to note, that for 56 and 57, Ford offered an optional AC socket in the trunk. Just a measly 100 watts, and it used a vibrator driven inverter.

And lastly, here's one few can answer. Who and when was the first automatic transmission offered? No, it wasn't Oldsmobile in 1939! Nor was it Chrysler's fluid clutch 2X2!

One I forgot! When did Chevy first offer a V8 Engine?
I'm surprised you didn't mention Chrysler's turbine car.

BTW, and have a shit load of 8 tracks tape, and cassette tapes along with like 100 CD's stuffed in a friggin box in the basement. Can anyone use 'em?
Look on ebay, some of them might surprise you. If you have the time and want to, the average ones go for a few bucks each, as long as they aren't country.

Yeah, weird that they didn't cover last car to come with ashtray as standard. I know they sell the little ashtrays for cupholders now but I don't think any car comes with a legit ashtray anymore.
I think my 97 Ranger was the last year of factory ashtray and cigar lighter on separate swivel.

Well Phil, it took me the better part of a decade to realize my MIL saying, bless his heart was not what it really meant!

I loved the days when you could armor-all the shit our of a vinyl bench seat and then take a corner fast and your date would slide right up next to you.

Well hello, Darlin! Nice ta Shee-ya! wink wink.

EDITED TO ADD: Ahhhhh - I see I wasn't the first on the thread to make a Conway Twitty Reference! Well played @DukeCanBuildit! Nice job there.
