Forgot to mention I added an XLT cluster I picked up off Ebay for $75. Millage was higher than mine by a few hundred miles so I drove mine until the millage matched then switched them.
Ah. This is my exact concern. I don't know if the Terrain Modes can be indicated on the standard XL display screen. Thanks for the update. Nice to know the modes can be enabled, though. That's enough for me to continue with my interest.

I have some training in electronics and computers. There may be some way to display the terrain modes, perhaps a small add-on display, kludged together from a cheapo CAN-bus module capable of custom message filtering and a small LCD screen would work.

I don't have much time to spend on this project, but it is interesting, and I may pick it up one day and try to figure something out.

They offer the fx4 package on every trim package. I’m sure it will work on an xl since you can get the base stripper package with the fx4 modes and trail control. That said idk if that means it comes with an xl cluster or not.

I have seen adding the 3 way Hill Descent, Auto S/S, Rear Locker switch brought up a few times in this thread. Trying to make sure on what if anything needs to be done with Forscan to enable the functionality. I saw where it was stated that hill descent is integrated with the 360 BLISS system for trucks that have that feature. However I have seen others where it needs to be enabled in Forscan to work properly.

The Forscan coding from the Wiki F150 spreadsheet on it has this on enabling it.

Hill Descent Control enabled (2018-2020s)ABS760-03-01*xxxxxif your as-built is 0, use 2, if as-built is 1, use 3. if as-built is D, use F. If as-built is 5, use 7. If as-built is 4, use 6

I have a 2020 (MY19) Lariat 501a 2wd with rear locker but already has the Off-road gauge screen enabled. Does anyone know if I just need to install the switch only, or enable it with Forscan as well? I don't have access to the truck (in for a water leak repair) so I can't look at the system with Forscan to verify.

I think hill descent control is integrated into the crawl control. I don’t know if any non fx4 trucks ended up having the basic descent only feature, but it’s not that much for the switch to try it out. Maybe someone local to you with an fx4 will let you borrow their switch for an hour or so. It’s really easy to get in/out.

Unfortunately I cant say as those are two different switch designs. Best to check a similar year ranger in your area first

You have a completely different one than most of us on here. Your best bet is to find a ranger with the terrain management where you live, find the part number for the switch and then buy the switch from your dealership(if they let you).
