Terrain Management activation in Forscan

Hey all,

I’ve got the TM switch installed, and have enabled the following in Forscan:

Selectable Drive Mode
Terrain Management System
Off Road Guage
Off Road screen

When I hit the TM button, I can see the different drive modes come up on the cluster. However, I can’t seem to move out of Normal mode and Cycle to the other modes. XLT Sport 4x4.

Any idea what I’m missing here? There is another option for Terrain Management System Type, and I haven’t messed with that but there seems to be 4 different types.

Never mind. My dumb ass had no idea you just need to press TM to cycle. Thanks @Frenchy for helping me out in the DMs.

Question, did you have any issues with installing it? And did it work? I've been looking to do it on mine as i didn't have it from factory and when i call and try and order the part i get the BS of not being the proper VIN #, blah blah blah. I saw there's a couple of YouTube videos on how to install it.
but do i need anything but the Switch assembly ?

All you need is the switch and Forscan to turn on the option in the software. pretty straightforward process.

Of course it works. Doesn't harm anything either.

I've been looking to do it on mine as i didn't have it from factory and when i call and try and order the part i get the BS of not being the proper VIN #, blah blah blah. I saw there's a couple of YouTube videos on how to install it.

You can just buy the switch from Levittown Ford Parts online, and as @TJC mentioned you will need to download Forscan and use an OBD II connector with your laptop to go into the system and turn it on. Very easy, takes a few seconds once you're in - i believe all of the info is in the Forscan wiki. Definitely works like I was hoping it would as well!

Yes, R&R the switch with the TM Button style and change the IPC Hex Line with Forscan

IPC 720-07-02 -

or GUI (Easy Way)
Enable Off Road Gauge
Enable Off Road Screen
I don't remember if I had to do both, or if you only have one option - Off Road Screen and it enables both lines.
My Excell Spreadsheet, only shows changing IPC 720-07-02 (x3XX-xxxx-xxxx)

Do not confuse these with the Inteligent 4WD Gauge.
Those screens will do nothing if you do not have the E-Locker or Trail Control
It is a power distribution screen to the individual wheels and although you have the screen to view it shows nothing on the power to the wheels.
The Top of the screen will be labeled Power Distribution
I had this enabled and then disabled it, since it was worthless information.
I do not have E-Locker or Trail Control

However, if I recall the Intelligent 4WD Screen gives you this, I have this enabled.

Super easy install. Pop the switch in and active it in Forscan and you're done. Forscan is simple too. It's basically toggling yes and no. No more entering numbers or anything like that
