Howdy all, about to purchase a tailgate ladder for my 21’ Tremor. Cant decide on a hitch step-up or a ladder that can be attached to the tailgate door. Need something for getting into my truck bed! Cheers ☘

I keep a little 3 step ladder in the back. I like it cuz it doubles as a stool so I can sit at the tail gate and work on stuff. I can also use it at the side of the truck to get stuff off the top or zip/unzip my awning.

I have the TrekStep on mine and love it. Yes, it is pricy but the hitch step is useless if the tailgate is down, or you need to have a hitch in the receiver. The ladder takes up space when folded. I quess it is personal preference and how you will use it. The TrekStep works for me.

I use a TrekStep also. Expensive but very solid. I've been as heavy as 250 pounds and I'm short.

It can still be a tall step up and I'm be more comfortable if I had a stake pocket to grab hold of. I think a folding ladder would be a bit easier to use but I guess it could get in the way if you haul long stuff.

There's a lot to be said for the step ladder as @Brett Fields mentions. Easy, pretty stable, and multipurpose.

I did the trailer hitch step. That sort of made me a target. I do keep a Harbor Freight collapsible step stool in the bed box.

1st thing I did was install a rear step to get into the overly tall bed, with or without the tailgate being down.

I like that idea. Where did you find that? The nissan frontier pro 4x’s have these!
