Bit pricey, yet most solid I could find, Used step ladder, folding tube style etc. Uncle Sam rebuilt my hips/legs 30 years ago, Just finished another knee replacement, told nothing left to do it again. Pleased with solid and stability, removes simple from base plate if needed. If get, need to get the upgraded model do to tailgate length, it’s got terrain quick sliding length adjustment, standard a bit too long. Last pic is base plate, easy removal/attachment, like that won’t interfere if any thing long needs hauled

They have a 70 dollar version, I wonder how crappy that is ? It doesn't look too bad really ...

Hey Trent - that looks pretty stout. I like that you found something that helps you make the most of your Ranger and that it’s versatile enough to be removed easily when necessary. The added bonus is that it doesn’t interfere with the Swingcases when you close the tailgate. ?

The downside is that it doesn’t interfere with the damper and doesn’t require its removal and subsequent disposal. ?

Poor retired man's tailgate ladder upgrade ....

Too funny, I came to the same conclusion. I really liked the idea the OP came up with, but ended up going ghetto with a small step ladder I stow in the bed.

I am not going to post my picture of my parking job, because I won't lie, nothing is more annoying to me than these days, as I walk away from my truck in the parking lot I just parked in, I am always horrified to realize I am parked askew and anyone coming out who is parked near me is probably thinking that guy shouldn't have a driver's license!

If all you do is garage or parking lot, step ladder is fine, yet having to get in or out in adverse conditions and or on uneven ground, need solid support. Emergency response doesn’t let you chose conditions or terrain

used milk crate with a scavenged piece of 3/4" plywood and a coat of Herculiner leftover from doing the bed.

@Tremot Trent what's the diamond plate on the top edge of the tailgate?
