Love how Ai perceives wives reactions lol a bit too accurate.

This applies to a ton of Jeeps as well.
Probably Raptors too. I was surprised to see a dirty Raptor R today lol

Not really surprising if you think about it.

All of the top line off road trims from every manufacturer are very expensive now, so very few are willing to use them for what they are marketed for.

I was very close to getting a Colorado ZR2 recently, thinking that I could have one vehicle to do everything instead of 3 different vehicles for myself.

Then a moment of reflection said why in the world would I take a $55K vehicle off road and ding it up when I already have a very capable Jeep that I'm not overly worried about dinging up.

Everyone is different I think. I got into watches about 3 years ago. I went from worrying about scratching them to now thinking the scratches add character and memories to it.

Kinda the same way about the ranger now. Ranger got some minor pinstripe on a trail last year. The whole fam was in the truck and the trail led to a waterfall in Utah. The stripes remind me of that fun trip.

I wouldn't try to jump a raptor though, I think SxS are so much better for that but I would take it off-road.

You're decision to not get the zr2 I think was financially sound for sure.

That’s my feeling about the Ranger Raptor too. Yes it’s a beautiful truck but unless you’re going to take it off road and use it to its full potential it’s (IMHO) a waste of money. I have a paid of Tremor which will do almost 95% of what a Raptor will do (and I take it off road) and can’t see myself doing anything different if I had a Raptor except draining my bank account more. Yeah the interior is sweet and I’m sure more comfortable but my Tremor suite me well so again not any big reason for me to change. I can put that money to much better use going on trips which I’ll have more fun at and will give me way better memories.

It’s kind of like that thread I made with the Raptor I saw Monday at the airport. It was really nice and had a bunch of extras on it but you could tell by the tires he added he’s most likely never going off road with it. To me it seems like such a waste of money but it’s not my money and I really don’t care what others do with theirs. Funny because even when I was younger and all my friends were buying all this crazy aftermarket stuff for their motorcycles (carbon fiber add ons, colored grips etc...) I never did. Sure I’d add an exhaust and power commander and a few other things but I was never one to “deck” mine all out. To each their own that’s what makes the world interesting and keeps others in business.

Was that Toquerville Falls? I did that one on my '19 Ranger and it was a great trail out to the waterfall that's in the middle of the desert. A lot of locals go out there and jump in and cool off in the summer then go back out off roading.

I agree with the SxS and if I were to buy something else that would be it. You can have way more fun with those, not worry about scratching it all up and still get a decent used one for under $15K and sometimes less.

Well going on the topic of money and using trucks, my uncles are from a very different generation. They buy old trucks to use for work. I will buy a new truck and use it for work. They always say why are you using your new truck you are going to scratch it. Well, i bought it for work. It has power, less chance of break down, everything works and it has comfy seats and ac. Just do not THROW bricks in the bed. PLACE them in the bed. You can work and take care of your stuff too. Get it all muddy and dirty, spend an 30 minutes or so washing and vacuuming friday night. Like a pair of work boots. Just wash them and put em away for the weekend. Just different thought patterns i guess.

Let me wrap my head around this Eli. You wash your work boots? Are you related to Dave or what?

I don't see the problem. I just leave mine on when I shower then dry them outside.

Per the bolded I used all my F150s for my business and they always looked brand new, even my black ones. One main reason was I never let my guys near it. lol But yes, I was careful loading and unload equipment & materials into it and always washed it. Duh, right. 😂

Corporate drone. Dilbert's world is alive & well.
I have discovered that my concern for scratches and dirt has decreased in direct proportion to how many laps my @$$ has made around the sun.
At this point? Oh is that a scratch underneath that dirt? Hmmm. So anyway, what do you want to do for lunch?

One exception. Door dings!!! Those involve stupid people. And to this day such an occurrence makes me go ballistic.

Scratches are pretty much inevitable and most will rub/buff out. But if you put enough Graphene on your truck, it'll help alleviate scratches. 😜

I agree about the door dings. Those are usually from others being lazy, inconsiderate, or stupid but usually it's a combination of all three! :explode:
