Interesting, but not in a good way. First I've seen of a chip hold for our Rangers. As I recall, you said your truck is a pretty straightforward build, so I wonder what chip is holding things up and I wonder what other builds could be impacted. For your sake, I hope they have under-promised and you end up getting your truck sooner!Just got off with Ford chat asking for any updates on my Ranger that changed to "in production" on Dec 1st with 12/8 production date but hasn't changed since. Ford chat had more info than normal this session and replied.
The vehicle was produced on 2022-12-08. However, it i being affected by a Micro Chip Hold. Its ETA is between Jan-10-2023 and Jan-16-202. These dates are estimated and can change based off of specific factors related to your order, the plant, or the transporter. Specific details as to why the dates are pushed are not available
Mine is a base XL, only option is the tow package. If I were Ford and I had 50 trucks needing chips and only 25 chips I would allocate the chips to the most expensive (XLT, Tremor, Lariat, FX4) trucks needing chips since their sticker prices are up to $15k to $18k higher than mine. Certainly they must have a system that prioritizes "age of build" as well though.Interesting, but not in a good way. First I've seen of a chip hold for our Rangers. That would have been a fun stopReached out to the dealer today, the hvac fan wasn't installed properly (or some such) they Uninstalled and reinstalled it and it functions fine.... They say.
And now the leak guy who was going to be there Friday, than Monday and Tuesday, isn't coming until Thursday of this week... So we shall see...
Side note, we drove through Salina Kansas and I tried to convince the gf to stop... She wouldn't. :-(

Worlds fastest chip shortage, just checked Order Status and as of this morning we are now "Built" and prepping to ship to dealer! Would be a miracle if it made it to the dealer before the end of the year.Just got off with Ford chat asking for any updates on my Ranger that changed to "in production" on Dec 1st with 12/8 production date but hasn't changed since. With the storm that’s coming in tomorrow afternoon and plant shutdown for holidays I think nothing will be moving until after the first of the year. It’s going to be bad here in MichiganWorlds fastest chip shortage, just checked Order Status and as of this morning we are now "Built" and prepping to ship to dealer! No doubt that is a nasty storm heading towards most of the upper half of the country. Reading the fine print in the order status the "shipped" bubble is partially filled and "Your vehicle is In Transit or on its way to your dealership". I checked with Ford chat and good news its on a rail car on the way and I got the railcar # and checked its status which says its has passed through Wayne, MI so its just barely out of the plant. Bad news per Ford chat ETA to my dealer is Jan 10th - 16th so looking at 3+ weeks out but at least it is on the way. With the storm that’s coming in tomorrow afternoon and plant shutdown for holidays I think nothing will be moving until after the first of the year. Mine (in 2019) took 3 weeks to get to Portland - it passed thru Seattle a day before so 3 weeks seems a pretty reasonable expectation. No doubt that is a nasty storm heading towards most of the upper half of the country. Glad it’s at least on a rail car and not sitting at Dirt/Snow mountain waiting to get buried. No doubt that is a nasty storm heading towards most of the upper half of the country.
