  1. Coming up on 40k. A few preventative maintenance things the dealer is recommending

Common Stealership tactics... The manufacturer of the car... as in the people that designed and built it and provide the warranty.... Have recommended service intervals published right in the manual. Mr Stealership doesn't read the manual, didn't design or build the car and gets paid by the...
  2. Finally completed Redarc Tow Pro Liberty brake controller

On my 23 XL. I've been procrastinating this ever since I bought my 7x18 enclosed car hauler but fortunately it went to my buddy's place to get self tapping sheet metal screws switched to steel rivets, fix a small leak, and install D ring tie downs, a winch, and get new tires put on. I mounted...
  3. How the heck do you remove this dash/switch cover?

Oh my goodness, thanks @airline tech. I would have never got it off with my approach. I'll get the whole cover off today and see if its screwed in.
  4. How the heck do you remove this dash/switch cover?

I mean... other than mutilating it like I did.... with no luck....
  5. How the heck do you remove this dash/switch cover?

I'm 80% complete on a Redarc Liberty Pro trailer brake controller and planned to put the adjustment knob on an unused switch panel behind the turn signals on my 2023 XL. How the heck do you get this thing out?
  6. Looking for trailer brake advice

Finally got around to looking under the dash in my 23 XL, sure enough there were two small blue tape bundles that I undid and that freed up the wires. You can see the 4 wires separated from the bundle here (with heat shrink on the ends)
  7. Looking for trailer brake advice

Ahhhh, thanks! Just found it in the owners manual. So you pull on that "handle" If you can call it that to access the fusebox and more importantly the trailer brake controller wiring? I'm obviously too focused on trailer brake controller wiring since it looked like a trailer with an electrical...
  8. Looking for trailer brake advice

What the heck is this? Its just above the hood release handle, is it supposed to indicate that the trailer brake controller wires are behind this panel? It looks like the back of a trailer with an electrical signal in it but if you feel up underneath there isn't anything there.
  9. Looking for trailer brake advice

I have a variety of hitches I use. For the car hauler the tongue is up pretty high, I used a straight hitch (no drop at all) with the big ball when I bought it and it sits a little too high in the front so next time I'll use a 2" drop hitch and that should be perfect. For the other towing I have...
  10. Looking for trailer brake advice

Thanks @subquark, that is a great writeup on the ranger station! I'll have to look for my wires this weekend. I have had to move my newly acquired 7x18 V nose car hauler twice now without trailer brakes, supposedly 2000 lbs empty and I have been taking it very easy and using the tow mode. My...
  11. Looking for trailer brake advice

One other thought regarding spending the extra to get the Ford version of the Redarc that ties into the AEB..... The Redarc Liberty and Elite Pro controllers are both proportional so if your AEB kicks in your truck will slow down (pretty rapidly I imagine) and you will probably have your foot on...
  12. Looking for trailer brake advice

12/30/23 update... After spending too much time looking over the options and all the forum posts it looks like I'm going with the Redarc Tow Pro Liberty option. The factory Ford option (Redarc/Lumen) is out of stock currently and although my 23 Ranger (US model) has the AEB I have to admit after...
  13. Will the 6g Ranger eventually be offered as a supercab?

I took delivery of a 2023 XL Supercab at the end of January. I liked the Maverick (if you ordered) but they kept delaying the opening of the order books and I'm really not into the quad cab with short bed. Being able to get a supercab Ranger sealed the deal for me and seeing the 24s were only...
  14. Seat covers?

I'm using the same Type S gel seat covers, great fit and value...
  15. TPMS BRONCO RIMS ON RANGER

I have 2022 Bronco Big Bend alloys on my 2023 Ranger and didn't have to do anything for the TPMS info to be picked up. I read on a thread reply somewhere on this forum that if you have TPMS sensors installed the rubber schrader valve will bend one way (away from the rim?) but not the other way....
  16. Never Run Extended Oil Change Intervals: Ecoboost Engines

wetidlerjr, just wonder what led to ford making Syn Blend the factory recommended oil vs full Syn... In volume purchases the cost is fairly minimal. Something led Ford to believe that full syn wasn't worth a little more than syn blend. Wonder if the Maverick runs Syn Blend as well...
  17. Never Run Extended Oil Change Intervals: Ecoboost Engines

What is with the ford manual recommending "Synthetic Blend" vs full synthetic? I mean I get it, they are the manufacturer and in theory should know what they are doing. Most turbocharged cars run a full synthetic although both are based on conventional oil and what makes them "synthetic" are the...
  18. 2024 Build and Price is up

I ordered a 2023 Ranger XL crew cab on 8/10/2023 and was locked in at the order (sticker) price of $28,320... By the time it was produced in early Dec the sticker was up to $29,320......... Only option I ordered was the $495 trailer tow package. For 2024 you can't order supercabs anymore and I...
  19. Washington FS 4 new TPMS sensors from 2023 Ranger $35 ea and $5 shipping

4 almost new TPMS sensors that came off my 2023 Ranger XL that I took delivery of January 29th and pulled the wheels off 3 weeks later at 724 miles to put on 17" Bronco alloys. These are just about as factory fresh as you can get. These are about $55 each from the online Ford discount parts...
  20. Washington Sold: FS: 2023 Ranger 16" XL Steel Wheels and TPMS sensors

I took these off at 724 miles and just sold the tires locally yesterday. Cheap way to get a 2nd set of factory wheels if you want snow tires mounted in the winter or different wheels for off roading. Searched online and prices "vary" so how about $65 per wheel without the TPMS sensor or $95 per...
