Like, How can I get better gas mileage? Thanks for the input, but you didn’t really answer my question.
There is a video where they test a Tacoma to the Ranger. Supposedly the Tacoma has a better ride unloaded but the ranger has the better ride loaded. They speculated that it's the parabolic springs vs leaf springs.I disagree. The single leaf spring is the weak point. The OP has already changed the rear shocks to Fox 2.0
I have Icon UCAs and eibacks and the front out performs the rears in rebound and dampening. Multi leafs would improve this.
Define amateur. Because there are some professionals out there that crank out some sub par work.Funny thing about "mods" by amateurs. They start at one end and end at the other. Then sell to a unsuspecting wanabe.

Well, over the past 50 years of modifying my personal vehicles, I've never been paid to do it. So I guess that makes me an amateur.I used amateur cause to use a more accurate description might upset someone's sensibilities. Generally amateur means no pay and professional means paid. There are different levels of both but in this day and age only the woke people are in charge of words.![]()
My wife drives a taco and I can attest to the ride being better than my Ranger, so if you want a car like ride buy a Taco. The Ranger has more room and is comfortable compared to the Taco. They are both good trucks and both have pro's and con's..There is a video where they test a Tacoma to the Ranger. I'd like to know more about that also.Kinda of in the same boat, OP. I didn't read all 6 pages yet but just wanted to mention that my truck is still new to me (2 months old) and I think the stock suspension has 2 sides to it.
1. Its floaty, which I love. What's wrong with a little Cadillac-like ride every now and then?
2. Its harsh over bumps, which I don't love.
Everybody says to get the Bilstein 5100's but I'm unsure how that will change things. [ people say things like, "it rides how it should've been from the factory" which doesn't really tell me much] I'd be really happy to somehow keep the float and lose the harshness but I'm unsure if there's a setup to accommodate me.
I have not tried that yet. Need to find a mother in law or something to haul around in the back. lol See if that helps.I'd like to know more about that also.
Some have said to just do the rear shocks only.
Have you tried the suggestion to put some weight in the back?
