You were on the right track. They just got to it before I had a chance.

Don't need them now the bed is actually bolted on right. Something they didn't do on the factory line.

...

Did no one's father/grandfather or gear head mother/grandmother... who knows - .. not warn them that weird sounds can tell you something is wrong. Like in this case - the bed wasn't secured right from Ford.

If it is the same as mine you are correct. Not exhaust or suspension.

On mine the bed wasn't torqued down and a bushing was out of place on the passenger side rear wheel area They put the bushing back and set proper torque. Now the bed is actually secured in place and no more angry birds.
If you are able, can you take pictures of the two areas? And the bed definitely makes sense that the sound/vibration would travel along the frame.

Weather is terrible but I'll try to find the bolt with witness marks on it once it dries out. I tried to get them to show me directly, but they just let me know the general location.

They said it was a bushing at the top of the frame rail between it and the bed. The one circled is absolutely drenched in silicone or something like it.

I think that is what it was.. when I asked them to point it out they just told me to have people stop by for it to be fixed. Not sure if that manager really understands the internet or how forums work.

HI Patrick,

I have said a few times before....I am appalled by the poor assembly quality at Michigan Truck....They need to get better and ASAP!

Sad you had this experience...

best,
Phil

I had a similar issue, basically would hear a squeaking noise when going over bumps, seemed to be coming from underneath vehicle. Noticed it mostly on gravel roads, especially when going down hill. Eventually, I found I was able to reproduce the noise by jumping up and down on the bed while the vehicle was stationary. Took it to Ford and after a few days, was told it was from a bracket holding the parking brake cables. Few days later I was told that they needed to order an additional part but didn't specify what it was. I don't have the paperwork in front of me, but I don't remember it being very descriptive other than a noise from parking brake cables and replaced a bracket. Hope this helps.

On mine jumping on the bumpe/running boards failed to cause the noise.

It is starting to do it again. Going back to get them to show me exactly what it is so I can deal with this on my own. It rained and it started up (wayyy quieter and not make me crazy yet) my guess is the tire flinging water washed some grease off..

Before I brought it back in I sprayed the bushing in my picture with garage door silicone and it shut up again, for now. So that seems to confirm the source for mine anyway. Going to add.. spray rubber stuff with silicone spray to normal maintenance.

Been busy and have yet to make it back. Since spraying everything it will only sometimes make the noise but wayyy quieter an only when on the brakes.
