Yes it does have cross ribs. I'm at work so can't take a picture of mine, but here is the Truxedo video showing install and details on its construction..

Interesting! Thank you

I got the gator SR1 Pro and let me say installation is a bit unclear with a drop in liner... I’m not sure if I even install the bulkhead bar, or if it goes under the bed liner or what... instructions unclear, installed pants on head.

EDIT: The bulkhead bar is only for those with non-OEM drop in liners, or spray on liners. It does not have good fitment (at least now). I posted more details below.

I just installed the Lorado by Access, its a between the rails rollup. With it I should be able to mount racks on the bedrails if needed.. I liked it on my F350 so no reason to try something else.

(From above)

The Gator SR1 Pro cover (the one that mounts on the rails, not between them) does not fit properly.

I will say that after installing it, the gap between the "bulkhead" and the bottom of the cover is well over 1.5" even with the drop in bedliner removed ( I removed it for "giggles") the gap is too big to be even close to waterproof.

I contacted Gator for a solution. I'll keep this post updated.

I bought the Access Lorado cover. Up here in MN, it is recommended over the Truxedo products. Didn't get a real good explanation as to why but there 10X more access covers up here than Truxedo. Purchased it from Panda Motorworks and everything was great.

I also have an Access Lorado cover. Was recommended by a friend. Like it so far, easy to use, does it’s job and looks good. Like it a lot more than the soft roll up with snaps I had on my F-150.

They can offer me absolutely zero solution. They did offer to take it back, but since it's already on the truck, and I'm smart, I corrected the engineering problem with a piece of composite deck wood. The engineering team was nice enough to invalidate my warranty because I cannot install their bulkhead seal (I created my own). Glad it was cheap. It's a nice cover, but I can't recommend it due to their lack of understanding that I have an OEM bed liner, and they are going to have to work within the parameters of this bed liner. I would assume a large number of the trucks ordered are going to have them, and shipping something that large back cannot be inexpensive.

No, I have not gotten it yet, I've heard it doesn't wear well, but there is supposed to be a 5 year warranty that they are pretty good at honoring. I'll check the gator roll up for sure as I'd rather not have to bother with warranty, and 800$ for a bed cover is insanity IMO.

Another reason I liked the Truxedo is that it doesn't mount inside the bed rails and make the bed narrower. it mounts on top of them which was something I didn't see a lot of in most covers.
I bought the Truxport and installed last week. The cover includes a front piece to level out the front of the bed with the side rail caps. I decided to build it up with closed cell foam to make a better seal across the front and used some extra closed cell foam to seal the gaps between the side bed rail corners and the front bed rail. The most difficult part of the install was inserting the plastic end caps into the front piece: man were they tight!

I had to fiddle around with the cover placement to get a decent overlap at the front and rear. Another 1/2" would have been nice but I think I have it where it wants to be. No rainstorms yet so I can't tell if it leaks from the top. As others have stated, there is a lot of gap around the tailgate so it seems likely you might get some water in there. If it becomes a problem I'll grab one of the tailgate seal kits.

Total price was $289 delivered from Tonneau Factory Outlet. I'm happy with the quality and it has some nice refinements over the last soft cover I had.

My guess is you do not have the factory drop in bed liner? The issue is that the oem liner covers the lip where the bulkhead seal goes.

I installed my OEM Ford / Truxport tonneau yesterday with pretty much the same experience as yours. It is much more sturdy than the one I had on my old Ranger and that one has held up well for many years and didn't leak.

I have Line-X on my bed so I decided to use the bulkhead rail that you avoided rather than a lot of extra foam. You probably made a good move there. That step is a real pain since a washer has to be slipped over the Rube Goldberg rubber tube nut retainers supplied. The problem is it is almost impossible to do because of the narrow working space between the bed and cab. I didn't think I was a klutz and have always been a DIYer. No way was I going to unbolt the bed to install a tonneau. Lost one washer and had to fish out another one with a magnet wand. Finally decided to tie fishing line to the washers to get them on without loosing more hardware into no-mans land. It would have been easier to use 1/4-20 bolts and nuts. I have doubts about the longevity of the rubber tube retainers if I ever have to remove the cover. Will wait a while before I cut out the fishing line just in case.

I may also need to get some foam to fill gaps if it leaks too much. There are some large openings at both ends of the bulkhead. Truxedo definitely needs to improve their sealing design. Anyway, it looks great and has the Ford Parts warranty.
