So I asked Claude AI if it is a good idea to trade my 2021 Ranger in on a new 2026 Ranger...

Never deprive yourself of somethings something you want. Life is too short and memories are all you leave this earth with.
So, boat or ZR2?

Actually, both would likely include a 3rd option of a divorce attorney 🤪

Already skating on dangerous ground as my wife is a Ford girl.

Boat. It would be easier to find another wife with a boat then a Colorado 🤔. Plus the Ranger will pull a bigger boat 😃.

You forgot one thing...Don't change the oil for at least 50,000 miles!
soon we are are going to all know how 50k on one AMSOIL oil change does!, my amsoil guy emailed me a few days ago and asked me if I was ever going to change it LOL and said they were going to pay for the oil test and came over and got the sample, plus topped me off LOL, I was a Qt low too, thats not bad after 2 years of not even opening the hood! if I was too low the oil light would have come on right? he gave me 4 tanks worth of fuel treatment, now after the winter gas change over I am back up to 19MPG (before their gas treatment) there was one point in Jan. I had hit 17.5MPG I take a picture of my heads up display about once a week so I can keep tract of it :)
he offered to order the oil and filter and will chance it for me when it all comes in for $85
and I will change the pumpkin oil and plugs sometime this summer... (also AMSOIL) and I might even try their Transmission oil....what could go wrong LOL
You know the second that oil test comes back I will post the results!

A boat? As I understand it from my brother, if someone wants to know what it’s like to own a boat, all they have to do is put on all their winter clothes, stand in a freezing cold shower, and tear up money.

I sure hope your experience is different.
I've owned boats (kept at home on trailers) since age 24. Boating has been a great family activity while our kids were growing up. Their best childhood memories are associated with the boat. We are still making memories with it and I'm 68 now. Soon we'll be teaching two grandsons to ski behind it and that keeps me acting like a youngster.

I'm probably one of the lucky ones as our experience has been different. Our current boat (24th season) has mostly cost us only for normal routine maintenance (a couple minor issues). But don't ask me about the trailer, it has had lots of issues. I don't plan on ever letting go of our boat. It's a love affair.

Dennis @Dr. Zaius you could just do what I do and find a good friend with a boat. lol My buddy has always had a boat and we'd go out all the time and I'd either drive and tow his boat or fill up the tank and spring for dinner. Much cheaper than owning one.

This is his newest one which him and his son spent a couple years building from an old worn out one. He docks it for the summers in RI and they're there every weekend deep sea fishing and going out to Block Island. I haven't been back east to see this one yet but once Annie retires we're going to take a month and go back and meet up to go out on it.

I agree unless you're just looking for a new truck with some newer features. It would be nice to have the newer 10R60 and the 2.3 with both DI and PI injection. But that's not enough (for me anyways) to trade in a perfectly good working RELIABLE truck and start all over again especially with higher insurance and a higher vehicle tax we have here.
After today's 108F and stop n go for 15 minutes for 1 mile, I would have almost traded in today for the 6G ranger with electric fan. Truck got up to 240F water and AC got warm at 240F, I think there is a cut-off. Cylinder heat 218F I think it was. Just zero airflow, hwy probably +130F warming things, it never stops surprising me that a 2021 vehicle that cost as much as a Ranger still had a mechanical fan. Once I started moving it dropped fast and this was with a Mishi Radiator. The stock one did this once too, it no airflow.
