As a transplant from NJ, there is some truth to it, don't get me wrong its hot, but ill take 106 here over 80 and humid on the east coast any day!

Our forecast in Dallas is similar to Phoenix, AZ, except that we our heat index is supposed to be around 110 each day.

It's forecast to be typically beautiful Hawaiian weather in Honolulu, humidity averaging 60-65 %
Lived here all my life, have never seen the mercury dip below 50 or go above 100 ever, however we are in hurricane season (June-November), I've read where it may be above average this year insofar as hurricane activity goes...hope they are wrong.

Indeed it is dry heat, akin to being in an oven.
I housesat for my nephew in Vegas several years back for 6 weeks in July-August, it got up to 113 one day...
I honestly don't know how people can work outdoors in that sort of heat.
Luckily his home had central air and a pool.

On a cruise, docked in Cozumel at the moment. Got off the boat this am, but it's way too uncomfortable out there. Back in the A/C sipping on something cool now.

Have a really good friend that used to live in Vegas. We would go visit and go hiking. Most of the time we would have to go into Utah where is was cooler. It was like being in an oven after 10 in the morning.

I had use of my nephew's 3 month old "Exploder" then, if you dared (or stupid enough) to lower a window while driving just for a minute the HVAC system took forever to recover...

So far I've been in 38* and a max of 78*. The average has been lower 50's at night and upper 60's during the day. Oh I'm going to pay for this trip once we get back.?
