Well after 6 months delay due to COVID and shipping issues, the guys at Juniper Overland in Denver got me hooked up. I can’t say enough good things about them and Rin over at OK4WD. They made things right and really stepped up.

the AluCab Canopy Camper is the best camper I have ever seen or used. The quality and attention to detail isbeyond expectation. I’m waiting on my Trail Kitchen system to arrive before I post interior pics.
Taking it out to home a couple 14ers this weekend so I’ll post some action shots.
It’s pricey but if you’re serious and will use it, you can’t go wrong.

what sort of price is that and is it permanent or can you remove/install in under an hour when needed (with appropriate harnesses, etc.)

Spent Halloween weekend in a CVT Mt. Shasta. A two person tent that my fiance and I had more than enough space in. The small rings on the base when open make it a good spot to hang camping lights and/or a mosquito killer. Side pockets make it convenient for storing phone, wallet, keys, etc. If it wasn’t for sleeping with my AR-Pistol at my feet, I probably could’ve pulled off having a small dog bed or power bank.

Nice rig! Which bed rack are you using ?
I went with the KBVoodoo Modular 10” height by 58” length. It came with no drill clips, but I opted on drilling through the top of the bed rails. I felt it was the more secure form of mounting since the clips wouldn’t have the best area to grab onto since I had the longer rack.

I installed the OME 1.7in leaf spring kit from Stage3 a few days ago. I had been running my air bags on stock leaf springs, yes the single leaf with one overload fml, running the air bags around 55 psi. The ride wasn’t amazing. I bought a new GX460 for the wife and after riding in that off road cloud! I decided I needed something better for the Ranger.
I now have a little more rake again with the front Eibach leveling struts and springs, which is good for sleeping, and the ride is sublime. I run the bags at 10psi just to keep them in good shape.
The OME leaf kits is very good and comes with everything. Remove and install tool roughly 2 hours.

My price into everything is around 15k now.
bo it’s pretty permanent. Apart from weighting a lot. There are many bolt in locations. It uses the factory tailgate bolt holes and hold down brackets into factory threaded holes in the bed too. I would imagine in a roll over this thing would save the truck and a wheel would come off before the AluCab.

IMO this will go with the truck in 5 years when I upgrade. I’m certainly not taking it off.

Smittybilt Gen2 Overlander mounted on Rhino Rack cross bars attached to Retrax tonneau cover.

I had the first generation of this tent mounted to my Jeep Wrangler. I didn't like the folding ladder, and the velcro closure for the cover. The Gen2 version corrects that with a telescoping ladder, and a zippered cover. Also has an improved rainfly.

It was available next day from 4 Wheel Parts, and was about the cheapest tent for it's size as well. With the money I saved on the tent, I bought a set of NFab Trailsliders, also from 4WP.

Smittybilt Overlander (gen 1) on XtrusionOverland XT1 rack and Retrax knock-off tonneau cover. I need to clean the tent and then probably re-waterproof it. I picked it up used and there is some light mildew staining and smell to it, but it should clean up nicely!

Once I finish designing the new bed rack I will move the Hatch RTT over to the Ranger. After I’m satisfied with the bed rack design I’ll start designing the HVO Bed Camper and HVO Flatbed/Canopy.
