I tried to search for this but everyone in this thread seems the most informed on the antenna so...

Is the long removable antenna ONLY for FM/AM reception? I’d like to just get rid of it if so. Also, would there be any issue with having that attachment point open without anything there if I do remove it?
Yes, that's for AM/FM reception and the shark fin is SAT. I wouldn't leave the screw / threaded stump exposed, I'd find a rubber cap and put over it. Might be one at local hardware store that'd work.

I could not stand the Alpha cow lick stock antenna. I’m using the 2” Stubby and have not had the poor reception issues I did when I first tried it. I would not leave the screw in slot exposed to the elements. As Neil Young says, “Rust Never Sleeps”.

There are too many threads on the end of the Panda antenna preventing the antenna from screwing down all the way. I'm not sure if it prevents water intrusion, It looks like the CravenSpeed has half the threads so I assume it screws all the way down. Also the Panda one when unscrewing the black plastic comes off the threads. It's screwed both directions.

UPDATE: I did get the correct screw thread so it does screw all the way down now.

Bad dealer prep strikes again. Look around on the floors, in the glove box, etc. If you can't find it go back to the dealer. Depending on how long it's been, you might have an argument. (I've had the same thing happen on other vehicles, but luckily noticed before I left the lot.)
