bit of a rant just because im pretty pissed off atm about this hole thing thats been going on here.

my wifes work got bed bugs and the company was shoving it under the rug "literally" for awhile but they all knew so they took precautions for it. well they finally found the guy who was bringing them in Friday and sent him home and i heard after many complaints they fired him this week...

but anyways Monday they canceled work to clean and spray the facility so everyone thought they did it Friday and let it sit all weekend until it was safe for people to come back monday nope! they sprayed last night on monday and it was so strong Emilys nose started to burn and get light headed and not feel good and having coughing fits. i told her she needs to leave
1. send an email to hr and her supervisor about this
2. contact her ob because this is a risk to your health and the babys.

she is almost home now and still having some coughing fits and will contact the ob once home she wont be going back to work this week until its safe its not worth the risk at all!

after looking it up online it should be safe if done properly after roughly a day or so and letting it dry with a place thats well vented with open windows which that place isnt well ventilated...

small rant over.
Dammit!

Yeah that's BS for the doing that! Especially since they know she just had a baby and that there'd be chemicals still in the area. I swear that people have gone (more) brain dead than ever since 2020. 🤬

Haven't had a baby just yet we got 3 months before she is born which makes it even more scary and concerning to us. The wife did go home but ended up getting a bit worse and had to walk to her car slowly and sit in it to catch her breath once she got home she did throw up so I told my supervisor what was going on and he told me to go home and not to worry about the mandatory ot hours right now since I looked out of sorts and a bit all over the place since I was worried like crazy and also mad....

ATM she is just laying down waiting for her on to respond to her on what we should do she is filing complaint and also sending a msg to hr asking what company showed up what they sprayed and when they sprayed

I meant to say "going to have" but my brain, well, had a brain fart. lol

I'd be worried and mad too! I'm sure everything's alright but I'd have her see her Dr just to make sure and send her boss the bill.

Haha all good man!

Agreed man this is just stupid!! It's unsafe and awful treating of people... Her doctor ATM said to stay out of the building and let her know if anything else gets worse or happens so ATM just resting.

I ended up passing out once I got home and made sure she was okay and doing okay lots of stress and worry and anger from this ordeal...

Also got to check out my sisters property while out and about. she is getting a house and large barn built but no photos because not my property to post about lol. But it's wild to see all this green grass when I've only been out here during the winter!

That’s just a bad situation all around. Is OSHA your workplace safety regulator? Maybe they need a call. Your wife complaining to HR is really just your wife complaining to management’s protectors.

Most bug killers are neurotoxins. They need to ventilate those premises for a very long time before it’s safe to go in. Completely irresponsible and possibly worthy of fines or sanctions, which are the only things companies listen to.

Endangering employees and their unborn is totally unacceptable and avoidable.

Yes OSHA is the work place safety in the US not saying they are great for everything but they do help for certain things like this. OSHA did call her and already made a complaint to the company so it's another one tacked onto the list for everything which is a good bit now!

Agreed it's completely unacceptable and unsafe and it's wild that they don't give a shit! The wife now has a doctor note stating if they are going to spray they need to put her in a safe part of the building or be sent home.

hey all this is going to be a very adult boring slight rant and asking for advice on this.

as we all know im having my daughter in 3ish months and both me and my wife are crazy excited for her! but there has been something nagging at me for awhile and that thing is well this here
1783000309305-9h.webp

this is my 2024 tenere 700 i love this bike and have wanted one of these bikes since they came out in 2021 its my dream bike and love every single time i jump on it and go for a ride on street or offroad because its just so much fun!

the thing is now this is me alone thinking, this not my wife or anyone else but once my daughter is born i plan to not ride street much at all anymore there is so much added risk with commuting to work and ridding a lot on street. i still plan to either keep my klx300r or upgrade to a larger enduro and trail hop where you go from one road to the next trail and just kinda hop around ya know? but true actual street riding around i plan to do a lot less of that or next to none of it. so whats the point of keeping this bike other then well owning my dream bike and loving every second i get to go for a ride on it and seeing it sit in the garage for months on end?

thats the issue i know the smart move is to sell it and use that money to save towards another dirtbike or just keep for the kiddo in the future but its a very hard thing to do and not something i truly want to do but something i feel is smart to do to mitigate risk and also cut out the payment and increased insurance on this bike. i will say its not to much for insurance and payment i think its right at 300 bucks a month for it or a bit less its not bad overall.

so ya thats my little talk on this and not something im going to do like right now it will be something ill most likely do after she is born or right before she is born.

If it were me I'd keep the bike you have now because it's your dream bike and it'll be hard once your little one arrives to get it back. This is as long as you don't need the money which it sounds like you don't right now. I've sold things in the past and regretted it later. Wait a while after she's born, I'd give at least a year or two and see how things go. If you find yourself really not riding it much (off road) sell it then.

I agree about not riding on the street now. I had street bikes for years and miss riding all the time but it's just to dangerous now with all the distracted drivers out there. As much as I'd love to get another one (I have a friend here bugging me to get one and ride with them) it's not worth the risk now. I still have my license just in case. I figure I made it this far without any serious injuries why take the chance now? It's harder to bounce back at 62 than it was at 32. lol

ya thats the worry is selling it and then never getting it back (not saying they will stop making these things the t7 is very very popular!) and agreed i dont need the money right now the big thing for me is this bike is good on street and good offroad not great at either lol even thou it is a blast! i know it sucks offroad on single track because im small and its not vs my klx300r is a blast offroad! but shit on street lol. but anyways the wife has told me to keep it for at least a year and see what i do with it and if i dont use it well then ya get rid of it but if you still use it for trips with your friends then keep it around even if its only a couple trips a year.

ya full on street ridding and commuting as much as i like it for the price of fuel and the enjoyment of it ya its not worth it anymore! ya at 62 its a lot harder to bounce back! shoot im 31 and i still feel my accidents ive had for a month or so until they heal instead of just going away the next day haha.

Smart woman! Sounds like your wife and I are on the same page.lol I would keep all your toys because it really is hard to get them back later as you'll find every excuse to where the money can be better spent. I never had kids but have seen some of my friends get rid of their stuff saying they just buy another in a few years once the kiddo gets older. They never did and most finally did years later when the kids got older and say they regretted it. Their bikes and snowmobiles were their happy place and yes family is important you still need a place to escape to every once in a while for your own peace of mind.

I loved jumping on my bike and going for a long ride just to clear my head or escape for a tough, stressful day. I had dirt bikes and quads too and both fulfilled the same escape. Off road was better because when you crash it doesn't usually hurt as much as the pavement does. lol

she is haha plus she loves motos as well and knows i love the bike and isnt trying to get me to get rid of it. that is the worry of not being able to get something again after its sold but ill always keep my dirtbikes around those are my favorite for ridding! idk about crashing in the dirt being less painful thou haha ive done a few crashes in the dirt and maaaan that shit also hurts but at least im not hitting a car lmao.
