Retired Military?

I dropped my DA 31s today for terminal leave and submitted my timeline for when my final day in uniform will be vs when I actually retire. Feels a bit weird for it to be coming to an end.

It seems the Ranger form is a bit of an older crowd here (hopefully didn't just offend 63% of the forum) - anyone else do 20+ and run? I am going to finish with right at 22 total; military career is old enough to drink... oy. Where did the time go?

Also; if anyone in the Houston/Southeast Texas area knows of a company needing HR; send me a PM, heh Two offers already out there but I like to stack the deck in my favor.

Same here. I grew up on Air Force bases. When I joined the Navy my father asked why and I told him, Hell I already did time in the Air Force, it was time for something different. He was not amused.

Apr 1979 to Nov 1999 -- Managed to sneak out to start my 1st civilian career despite a Stop Loss before the docs could board me and take timing out of my hands

I did 12 years. 12 years 2 months an 10 days to be exact. Wife an I had twins an moving 4 kids got old fast so I got out.

rolled that 12 years into a postal retirement. 25 years post office so getting paid for 37 years of service.

October 1981 - January 2007. As a cook I served with the army, navy and on training bases. My favorite was the 12 yrs on board various ships on the west coast. Then I spent 6 yrs cooking for the military as a civy. Then in 2013 I started as a civilian Ammo Tech. I just started my 42'nd year either in or working for the military.

I retired 2 years ago. I did 20 years and 3 months in the navy on the aircraft mechanic side. I've been going to school for the last 2 years. The ranger is my first retirement truck.

10years, 5 months as active duty USAF helicopter crew chief. Priorities changed when my daughter hit school age. Moving around the country every few years has it's pros and cons. Thank you all for your service.
