I was puttering today. Perfect grandpa driving, 100km/h and was bouncing between 7.4 and 8.7 L/100km
Engine purrs and its so quiet at that speed
Seeing these L/100km numbers make me happy. My '09 Focus (daily driver) that is being replaced by the Ranger get 6-7 depending on how I drive and my '13 Escape Titanium is in the 10-12 range most of the time. So if "grandpa" driving can put me <10 L/100km then I am even happier about my decision to go with the Ranger.

This is from a recent weekend roadtrip that included some interstate, but mostly state highways and a fair amount of local driving. I've been very pleased with the mileage from my Ranger.

STX FX4 Supercrew just turned 4000mi worst 21.3 best 23.6 hand calculated at fill ups. All close to the dash read out. 87 octane. Type of driving has been all off the board. Yet to get a straight all highway run. Lot better than the 10mpg in my 92 F250 4x4 460ci auto.

Went on a recent trip and got this 28.0mpg!! Mostly highway (60mph) with some faster bits (70mph) and a handful of city getting out of town and through little towns along the route. Definitely dipped during the faster bits, but once I got back to highway speeds it just kept creeping up. Even though we've now got over 7000 miles on the truck (in just over 2 months), this was our first long distance trip in a clean profile (no trailers or kayaks or anything). I was hoping to hit 500 miles on the tank, and probably could've if there was a gas station close to that distance away. But alas there was not, so I had to bow out early. I've gotta save something to shoot for in the future though anyways, eh!

Definitely very happy and impressed with what this truck has been able to do, all across the board!

You guys are getting awesome numbers. I cant really even get close. My current tank has been almost all city driving but even with trying to be careful Im averaging 17.9 now.

Wow, you must have a feather foot?
not really....passed a couple slow moving vehicles this morning. :sunglasses:

I was taking it easy for break in....driving more "normal" for me now. See what happens. I plan on resetting at 1500 miles.

I do not get right up to a red light and slam on brakes...that's for sure. if I see light or someone turning, i just let off on gas pedal and coast. I am very easy on brakes. I believe that is the key. Hell, my 2014 F-150 had 70k miles and I was on original pads.
I also don't floor it on take offs.

I keep the auto/off thingy enabled. no reason idling for 30 secs at an intersection, wasting gas.
