Just returned from my ford dealer.
Was told that they do not have the parts for
the recall. If they simply checked the tail lamp
it could bread and they would not return my
truck.

Has anyone else heard this story? Hard to believe
they would send out a recall and and make appointments
for repair without the parts.
Dealer told me the same thing Friday they said it passed all the tests though and to just bring it back if I had problems as the connectors get damaged when they are unplugged

Here is the bottom half of my recall letter. I got the letter today. I had the truck in last friday but it was ok and did not need parts. They told me 2 hours to fix if it failed.

Good luck.

same here, letter came today. I'm curious what they need to do to fix this, meaning what exactly do they replace and does my drop in bed liner need to come out. The reason I ask is because i installed the bed lights and I would prefer they do not remove the bed liner. Those kids are lazy and sloppy and have little experience, they would likely screw up my bed lights.

I checked and my lights work fine, not sure I will even take it in for this one.

If anyone does take their truck in for this, please post the details.

Took mine in this morning for inspection and mine didn't need any repair. The dealer said only 1/30 they've seen so far actually needed a fix.

That's good to know. Do you know what they checked? If they simple look and see your brake, tail, turn, and backup lights come on, then I can do that at home and not bother. But they are checking other stuff, then that would be good to know.

You'll have a Recall Flag on your Carfax Report until you get this checked. If you never intend to sell or trade it, you don't have to worry, but getting it checked out is probably the best option.

Does anyone know exactly where "connector C422" is located ? Pic ? Taking it to the dealer, having it sit there for 3-4 hrs when it should take 5-10 minutes to actually check it is just ef'ing ridiculous for an "appointment"......

Hi Folks,

I got my letter yesterday evening. This morning, I called our local dealer, Jim Click Ford. I was put on hold and finally a fellow took down my name and phone number with a promise to call back within an hour. It is now closing time....no call. This is SOP for Jim Click Ford. I may have to call Horne Ford in Nogalas and take my Ranger down there some 50 miles...at least I can be assured of good service, which Jim Click Ford is not capable of providing.

Best,

Had an appointment for today to check the two recalls I had. One for the passenger seatbelt and the other for this electrical connector. Both checked and no repairs required. Total time at the dealership was just over one hour.
Added info: My appointment was Friday, today is Monday and the two recalls have already cleared my FordPass.
