Typical ‘Murican mindset “why get what you need when you could have MORE!!!??!!”

If I was buying a full size truck btw, it would be a Ram. But a full size truck is not what ticks my boxes and I’m glad we have great options now in the midsize market, especially now 2 of those options have meaningful tow ratings.

I'm with you on the Ram, I've had two and they were great, and the new one is even better.(and about the same price as a Ranger).....The wife though liked the mid size Canyon and now Ranger better than the full size..After almost 46 years of marriage I know when to hold, and when to fold...as Kenny says..

I'm not sure the problem was with a shortage of trucks versus an awesome new truck built by Ford.
Agreed. GM midsize trucks are quite good an I test drove em. I despise the Tocoma so was never in consideration. After seeing & driving new '19 Ranger last august when I needed a new truck that was it for me! Bought it on the spot. XLT FX4 crew cab black on black. Pretty well loaded. 7k mis later still in awe. Very good MPGs. Stellar powertrain performance. Solid , plush ride. Plenty tech. My son plans order a '20 Ranger XLT in new race red . Ranger sold just under 100k truck in 2019. I'm sure 2020 will be even better year for Ranger. Waiting on the Ford performance tune come out? Anyone know when. Fairly new on here. Like it. Great info. Let's keep the trolls out. Already seen suspected Tacoma World types writing fake stuff .....& ppl calling them out.

Heck ya! U cant go wrong with these new Rangers. Just he sure run a real good full synthetic SN+ rated motor oil & motorcraft filters (similar quality) throughout! 5k mi oil changes are the recommendations from engineering experts.

No incentives for the twins on the fourth quarter plus limited inventory...Nothing wrong with those trucks. In fact even with the incentives the Ranger underwhelmed on the sales for the year..imo...

I agree I owned a 2017 Colorado and it was a great truck.. I loved it and to me the biggest difference is the Colorado is more for those that come from trucks and the Ranger is more for those that like a SUV. The Colorado sounds and feels more like my other trucks where the Ranger feels and sounds more like our Escape did.

As a former '17 Canyon owner, I'd tend to disagree. There's been some pretty significant transmission / torque converter issues with those trucks, along with every other GM platform with that 8-speed tranny. The Colorado/Canyon message boards are littered with these issues, and there's at least one class action suit pending due to this.
Have you seen the transmission thread on here?
Pretty long for a truck barely a year old.
People are being told by some dealers it is a characteristic of the Ranger. So Ford designs trucks to shake on take off?
I am not sure it is a trany issue but it still is a problem.
It has already made some of the truck rags out there.

Honestly I wish I would have waited a little longer to buy the Ranger. Took 20 percent in rebates to get me to buy and it was hard to pass up.

To me it is not that a vehicle has a issue because they all will, it is how the company handles problems when they arise.

That said Ranger sales were good in the 4th quarter but it took a 20 percent rebate to do that. Watch first quarter I would think they drop back to third. To me it is because they priced the Ranger just a little too high. They do not need a 20 percent rebate but 500.00 is not going to do it.

I am pulling for the Ranger to do well. I do not need them to be in first place just be competitive that is all..

I looked at the new Ram (granted online via USAA car buying) and the prices I was Seeing seeing were no where near my Ranger. There was the classic (old style) that may have been but then again I wanted a midsize. You can say the midsize market is over priced as all the truck’s are priced very similar and Actually found the Ranger to be a better value for what I wanted before rebates ( which I’m happy for).
I also believe you will find that our truck is the #2 selling truck worldwide behind the hilux that’s not underwhelming for the world.

I previously had a 2017 GMC Canyon 4wd and recently traded for a 2019 Ford Ranger XLT 2 we

very pleased thus far with the Ranger.

I was very unhappy with the Canyon transmission, which they tried 5 times to fix or resolve with poor results

And Ford fixed the tranny issues with a software flash.

GM has been trying for what, 7 years to fix that crap tranny?

Ford does not have a tranny flash for the issue.. Ford has never made a comment on the issue yet. They have asked for a few truck to be sent to them to figure it out according to one online site. Some dealers are saying Ford says it is a characteristic of the truck and there is nothing they can do.. Phil has suggested it maybe the driveshaft.

To me it feels like it has a loose engine mount or it missing or something is shaking when accelerating.

I think Ford may have bigger issues with those that have fuel in the oil in there Rangers...

Dont know anything about the actual sales numbers, however in the month and a half I've had my Ranger ( which I love) I've only seen 5 on the road here on the south side of indianaplois. I see a shit load of new Colorado's and Canyons .

I don't recall ever seeing a commercial on TV here in the Atlanta area. Like some of the others on the forum, I almost forgot that Ford started making the Ranger again, since so few are on the road around here.

One guy here had an issue.

And fuel in oil? Come one.

The service manager at the chevy dealer near me said he seen 40% failure rate in trannies on truck he has sold. This has been goin on for years.

What percent of ranger owners have a tranny issue .5%? .05%? And your source is an internet site? Is it ford.com?
Or another legit and respected site? If not, who cares?

You are making much more out of the issue than it is. Not sure why.
