I kinda thought that the brits were responsible for this, thanks to them we are stuck on the antiquated measuring system in place now.
The metric system is much more logical and user-friendly.

Edit: since I am stuck in the automobile trivia mode, who can remember how the turn signals were operated on a '67 Toyota Corona?
May have applied to '68's and '69's also.
Not this user...
As for the 67 Corona, they probably didn't..., besides isn't that a Cigar?

A lot of people seem to forget that the Ranger plant runs ONE shift. Yes, one shift (until Bronco begins manufacturing). To be able to catapult to #2 in the final quarter of the year running one shift is nothing short of legendary.

I have been curious on total numbers of trucks produced.

Me too - I know at one point I had heard/read that they were pumping out 500 or more a day once the initial bugs in the assembly line were worked out, but I don't know how accurate that was, nor how the overtime affected those numbers - are they still working overtime?
