Nothing shocking really still seems some supply issues maybe still. With newer models on the way in older models are struggling.
Hummer EV sold 2 trucks that is Funny.
Maverick is doing well outsold the Ranger.
Ranger massive drop in sales. But I see none on the lots.
Tundra is doing terrible.
Tacoma did well as usual with a drop.
Frontier dropped in sales pretty big but held to #2 in mid size.
GM outselling Ford in overall sales.

Nissan really needs to drop the price. Their vehicles are really not too bad but nothing special and they can not price them up there with the rest as the market recovers. Frontier always did decent because of how affordable it was but is priced high now in my opinion.

Overall a jump in truck sales it seems. Truck market seems healthy still despite interest rates.
I do not think interest rates will affect sales as much as I think prices on trucks and they are getting stupid. Ford just did another increase on lighting and it was big. also could be why maverick is doing so well (price).
I have a feeling prices will drop heavy as more new truck models launch. There is going to be to much competition especially in the mid and small size.

If they make more they sell more.
Still limited by the supply chain problems.
Way worse if you want a Transit.

Gotta say I agree on your Nissan assessment. I haven't ridden in a new Frontier, but I always saw them as a great option. Cheaper interior parts and comforts with a lower price tag. That was the agreement.

I test drove a Titan last year and was stunned how similar that mentality carries over into their full size. It's a very nice truck, don't get me wrong, but the part quality and feel of it while driving felt a little bit lower quality than competitors. Which IS NOT a bad thing. In fact, I love that that's an option for me as a buyer to save money.... except Nissan forgot the save money part. That dealership wouldn't budge on the price. Kept it high up there and in line with the Tundra and F-150. If I'm paying a premium price tag then I'm gonna want a premium truck.

I still think about that V8 Titan exhaust note tho... lord almighty that thing with aftermarket pipes is glorious.

I’m surprised by how low the Tundra YTD sales are.

I assume Ranger sales are suffering from Ford focusing on building Broncos. They are probably diverting the shared driveline components from it to the bronco.

At todays prices I hope nothing happens to my Ranger, I can't afford to replace it in this market.

Hard to even order a ranger without getting a ton of deleted items, i rarely ever see any rangers in the lots of my local dealerships and i live in a pretty big city. Seems like with the roll out of the gen 6 and the focus to push Bronco's, our gen 5's will be soon forgotten lol

When I was looking at purchasing my XLT in the first few months of 2023, the local dealerships did not have much to choose from. Quite a few were warning that they did not have any more Rangers coming. Ford's new vehicle finder was reporting available vehicles only for the dealers to say that their trucks that hadn't even shipped yet were sold. For the most part, it was Lariats and XLTs. No markup, but definitely no incentives.

Dealer closest to me kept trying to sell me a $46k Lariat and had nothing else. The dealer I ended up buying from only had the one Ranger at the closest location. They had a single XLT Sport get transferred from the other location via convoy to the lot the day I signed on mine.

Had to drive over an hour before finding a dealer that had more than 2 Rangers on the lot.

I think it is abundantly clear what the issue with the Rangers is - you can't sell what you aren't building - and as numerous people have stated, most dealers have EXTREMELY limited selections of Rangers. I check with some regularity around here and many have NO Rangers, and even the large dealers only have 2 or 3 on the lot, where they used to have like 20.

Maybe things will change with the 6G rollout, but I'm not holding my breath.

Hi Rob,

Ford is building trucks based on customer ordering and not building for dealer stock anymore as I understand it....

Had to order my daughters new Escape in early February as her lease is up at end of May.... Looks like the dealer salespeople are going to be out of work....

best,
Phil
