The interstate roads are littered with people who were too tired to drive and too stupid to stop. Tired drivers are as bad as drunk drivers. If you are towing, stop more often. KISS
How does towing factor into how often you need to stop for rest? At best, I can get 4 hours from a full tank on the freeway, and that's running pretty low.

Personally my needs are for remote areas where there may not be another station within acceptable distance, and I'm on back roads for a week or two, camping and exploring.

Maybe keep your opinions to yourself, if the best you can offer is to call people stupid.

Loving all the feed back. We're over a 100 people interested in just a day. Hopefully this enthusiasm is enough to get Transfer Flow onboard. I love my Ranger but I can't count on more than 150 miles of range in many circumstances and even less when towing. Another 10 gallons or so and things would be so much better.

Fingers crossed that this comes to fruition.

Wife's car has a 14 gallon tank and at 32mpg, she gets a range of about 450 miles.
My truck has an 18 gallon tank and at 19mpg, I get a range of about 340 miles.

But man they sure can vote!
Its weird that its always democrat...

Ok, to the topic at hand: I would love to get one. I'd like to get 300-400 miles to a tank offroad, with all my modifications. MPG is important, but distance to E is of bigger importance when travelling. With my current modifications, I get ~325 miles to a tank. When loaded for camping and in 4Lo, it drops considerably.

My requirements:
1. It can't hang lower than the frame. I don't want an anchor.
2. +4 to 6 gallons would be nice. I don't need to drive to the moon on a single tank.
3. I'd be okay with an auxiliary tank that mounts in the spare tire location, as long as it has a pump and can feed in to the factory tank by switch.
4. Price. There is diminishing returns. I get that there is a lot of R&D and manufacturing cost, but it has to be reasonable for me to invest. Just being honest. If it cost $2000+, I'm not saying it's not worth the price, its just not worth the price for me.

You obviously don't tow, the whole purpose of this post.

With EPA requirements and factory leak check detection it won’t be easy to produce and likely would require a software change. I don’t see it happening.

Don‘t shoot the messenger.

no its not.
pay attention
some posters want to go off into the forest for extended periods of time
trailer towing is not the whole purpose of the post.

if we get into the real nitty gritty, some people just want to test their bladder control
Where tf are you going? Without towing you can go 300+ miles. Ya mayswell just buy Jerry cans. Towing I don't want to be using Jerry's all the time on the long stretches. When you bet 5 mpg a 19 gallon tank is kinda worthless.

Right. This is a complete waste of time. Nobody is going to waste their time... Especially with how the world is now and the epa standards. If it hasn't happened by now it won't.

I'm usually just going to the corner store for some chew and chips and a rockstar.

but when i did camp and tow a trailer behind my F150, my longest journey was only 3 hours away

I dont need an extended range tank for my needs these days.

but when i drove across the country in the Focus couple summers ago, I wished it had a smaller tank. It got great mileage and couple that with its tank size, it wasn't uncommon for my bladder to be full when i was still at a half tank. I blame the large coffee's for the most part, but still, i couldn't last a tank full of driving. I was always pulling off on some side road.
You wished for a smaller tank? What?

You can always stop before empty, but you can't keep drive while empty. Thus bigger than maybe necessary is better

Why can't some people realize others needs are different than theirs. Some of us use our trucks where we want or need more range. It's not about stopping to piss I can do that on the side of the trail can't get gas then.
I have a canopy camper can't really put a transfer tank in the bed or fuel cans.If a company makes a direct replacement fuel tank that increases capacity while not reducing ground clearance it's worth it to me.Hell the one Frenchy was working on I was excited about It would have been worth the 2K dollars and the drive from south Florida to Colorado get it.
I would also like a auxiliary transfer fuel tank where the spare tire goes. The more range the better. Some times there's not gas station right around the corner.Kinda sucks to be 2 or 3 days in a trip then having to back track to find fuel.

Whether people want it or not, that is the point of this thread/poll. It’s not just a yes and no, but as to why yes and no. I’m just as interested to hear why people don’t want it as much as the people that do.

In the future I would like to do more overland trips that really take me away from things. A slightly larger fuel tank would come in handy. Sure, so would a couple Rotopax or jerry cans, but I’m trying to utilize as much space I can in the bed as is for other stuff. The larger tank would help in that regard.

@Yama_Ranger has been in contact with Transfer Flow concerning the design and availability of an oversized OEM replacement fuel tank. If enough positive response here, they have expressed they may be willing to undertake this project/item.

No, this thread poll is purely about gauging want for it. It has nothing to do with why, or to provide a place for those who don't want one to come and insult those who do.

Id say 25 if you do 32 youl get really bad sag on the drivers side theres a couple threads onhere about our trucks having a squat from factory and people having to shim the leafs. My buddy has the lean and his is a 2022 with only the tank full.

Even at a full tank, 32 gallons is only ~84 extra pounds, which shouldn't cause 'really bad' if any additional sag in a truck rated for ~1500 pounds.

Daily driver can maintain it at 5/8 tank and carry the factoy weight, using the additional volume only when needed.

Correct! This poll was intended to gauge the interest if a replacement fuel tank was available, not debate they whys or hows or advantages or impacts.
