I echo the thoughts of others on here that it could mean the end of the SuperCab.

Bed length is mentioned by members as a big motivator for deciding to buy a Scab. This might be Ford’s answer to offering a 6’ bed while streamlining production. The gas mileage on this configuration might also make it a viable option for many.

Personally, I hope they continue with a SuperCab Ranger and offer the longer bed for the SuperCrew.

Time will tell. ?

I would have given it allot of consideration when I bought my Ranger, but far too deep on mods and add-ons, to take the money/time loss to do it all again. Ask me again in 15 years ;)

I thought I'd like a long bed midsize puckup, but I think if I were truly worried about bed size I would go back to a 1/2 ton or 3/4 ton. There were a few of those tacomas in VA, and I always felt they were too small for the work the user was doing.

Isn't Ranger already a ton vehicle? Stock Raptor is 1/2 ton (580kg), single cab is beyond 1 ton :p

My first Ranger was a XLT long bed with dual fuel tanks. I loved that thing. I could go forever before worrying about getting gas. It did everything I wanted/needed. I would love to see the ne Rangers will longer beds too.

As far as size goes. The 5G Rangers are real close to the size of the 97 F150 extended cab I had. That F150 had the long bed (7 foot).

A far as the Jeep Gladiator goes, It was the high door sills and lack of towing capacity that kept me from buying one. I had narrowed my choice down ti the Gladiator and the Ranger. The Gladiator only has a 4,500 pound towing capacity which is only 500 pounds more than the new Maverick.

Makes a lot of sense for Ford to offer the supercrew longbed configuration for Fleet sales. Ford is doubling down on expanding their Fleet offerings alongside their new Ford PRO services package; I'd expect that's the main motive for this.

I’m one of the few who really doesn’t want a crew cab, but does want a longer bed. I also don’t want a taller wider truck. Longer is good for me.

No cab with an 8 foot bed. You'd drive it like a cigarette boat.
Max legal length in here is 42.62 feet and with trailer 113.18 feet.

Although those start to look like this 104 ton truck (although it's only 108 feet).

I'll copy my post from the R6G site.

Meh not for me. If I wanted a long cab and long bed I'd buy an F150. One thing I love about my Ranger is it's size and to be able to fit in my garage. Also parking it in tight spots is a breeze.
That's what I always said about my F-250...except the garage and tight spots bit. Old gods I miss that truck.

I'm all for it! Almost went to a GMC Canyon AT4X because of it. Better fit for things like an ATV and all my hunting gear. Glad I didn't, I don't think I would have made it out this spring with the lower ground clearance of the GMC.

When choosing my truck, I wasn't concerned about length at all, mostly about width. A current ranger is 33inch shorter than a 6.5ft bed F150. If we add a foot to the length, it's still 21 inch shorter than that F150.

A Ranger is also much less expensive than a comparably equipped F150. A Lariat Ranger tremor is 60K and a base F150 Lariat Tremor is 75K (Canadian prices).

But I get it, not a lot of people want a mid-size truck with a super crew and 6ft bed.

I will be very surprise and happy if Ford does it for the next generation.
