So torn between keeping my entire warranty intact (got the full coverage plan out to 7 years and 100k) and getting a tune.. also keep hearing how much people love the higher octane soft shift and want more go fast with less transmission derp.

I added the 6 yr/75K extended warranty even though mine's tuned. It really is a lot better shifting and way more fun to drive and AFAIK no one here with the Livernois tune has blown theirs up yet. That's not to say it can't happen, but if you drive it somewhat "normal" and don't beat the tar out of it all the time you should be fine.

And if it blows because I drive like an asshole, they would probably try an void the engine/trans warranty anyway. I know with a friend's Toyota that chunked a rod and let the piston smash the valves they knew what rpm it happened, gear, speed, throttle position, etc. My guess is Ford can see the same.

I don't beat the tar out of dailies anymore after modding one to the point of being obnoxious to drive.

That is what projects are for.....

More to think about, but I am going with Livernois if/when I pull the trigger.

They most likely will try. But it is a chance we all take adding a tune that doesn't come with a warranty. It does help some if you have a good relationship with your dealer/service manager too as most times they'll try and work with you when something like this happens.

I lost a couple mpg when I added larger tires and a lift. I gained 1-2 mpg back IF I drive it normal.

So the tune didn't really change mileage much?

No not until you get into the boost which is really easy to do. So you do have to be diligent about your driving but you can still get good mileage. You'll have some fun with it at first (I did) and get into it more than usual so it'll probably take a hit at first.

Here's my best mpg from our recent trip. It was all highway driving through Colorado averaging 75-80 and hitting 85 at times.

After reading everyone’s thoughts on here for over a month, I got mine from Unleashed. I spent the extra for the Livewire TS+, but it was on sale. They run sales pretty often.

Their service is top notch. Torrie e-mailed me asking what I was looking for in the tune and my mods. I ended up with an 87 tune to maximize fuel mileage and shifting, and a 93+ tune for maximizing performance. He had them back to me the same night.

I’m very happy with both tunes!

installed the 93 soft shift today. wow what a difference. sure, wot is faster but its the part throttle and shift mapping that is awesome for me. ill need to learn to keep my foot out a little more if i want some semblance of fuel mileage. but not today lol. or probably not tomorrow lol.

ill run this one for a few days and decide if i even want to try the others. i ended up with all the run. 87 soft and performance, 93 soft and performance, tow, and e30

Glad you got it and you're happy with it. Give it some time (at least a couple thousand miles) as it does get better the more miles you put on it too. Now try S mode and see how fast it takes off! ? That'll really put a smile on your face.?

Any updates on your tuner choices?

I'm waiting for my ford tuner to get here and after reading a bunch of threads I'm wondering if I should have went with the livernois tuner for the actual choice of different tunes....uuhhggg.... I wonder if I can return or reject delivery since delivery requires a signature

Glad to hear you've been enjoying the tunes! Thanks for sharing your experience and we greatly appreciate the kind words. Also for anyone that is trying to decide where to turn for their performance needs, feel free to give us a call PM or email and we would be happy to help discuss things a bit further in depth.

What are the chances of battery voltage dropping below 12V while programming? Will that brick your ride? Might be worth the hassle of dragging a tender out to the driveway.
