I added the 6 yr/75K extended warranty even though mine's tuned. It really is a lot better shifting and way more fun to drive and AFAIK no one here with the Livernois tune has blown theirs up yet. That's not to say it can't happen, but if you drive it somewhat "normal" and don't beat the tar out of it all the time you should be fine.
And if it blows because I drive like an asshole, they would probably try an void the engine/trans warranty anyway. I know with a friend's Toyota that chunked a rod and let the piston smash the valves they knew what rpm it happened, gear, speed, throttle position, etc. My guess is Ford can see the same.
They most likely will try. But it is a chance we all take adding a tune that doesn't come with a warranty. It does help some if you have a good relationship with your dealer/service manager too as most times they'll try and work with you when something like this happens.
I lost a couple mpg when I added larger tires and a lift. I gained 1-2 mpg back IF I drive it normal.
No not until you get into the boost which is really easy to do. So you do have to be diligent about your driving but you can still get good mileage. You'll have some fun with it at first (I did) and get into it more than usual so it'll probably take a hit at first.
Glad you got it and you're happy with it. Give it some time (at least a couple thousand miles) as it does get better the more miles you put on it too. Now try S mode and see how fast it takes off! ? That'll really put a smile on your face.?
