Question? Our powertrains are covered for 5yrs/100kmiles? is the transmission not part of the powertrain?
Where do you get 5 years 100,000 miles? Factory powertrain warranty is 5 year 60,000 miles(wichever comes first).

I thought the emissions had to be covered until 100K or 5 years an they may offer body rust coverage up to then too

Emission warranty and body rust/corrosion warranty is a whole different deal and the transmission would not be covered under either one.

I understand that I'm just guessing where he "got that from"

@Msfitoy did your ford vehicle detail alerts ever suggest there was anything wrong with the powertrain? I just got my monthly one today and it looks pretty useless. Didn’t mention anything about the locks recently going haywire which you would think would be part of the “restraints and drivers assist” section.

Kind of a bad sign that the first person on these forumns to near 100k trans blew…. How concerned should the rest of us be lol. Is there any data to show that this may end up becoming common?

I wouldn't go panicking yet. :D As said before this transmission is in millions of vehicles for many years now and there's no wide spread problems. The F150 uses it and their best selling year (2018) they sold 900,000 units. Sadly this is just a fluke thing that happened to Sid and I'm sure it's happened to others (in other vehicles) but it's no cause to panic.
