I don't like that snake picture you have it makes my spine shiver
Your reaction is not unheard of, I think Indiana Jones suffered the same phobia :

Ophidiophobia is an extreme, overwhelming fear of snakes. The condition is called a specific phobia (fear), which is a type of anxiety disorder. Ophidiophobia may be associated with herpetophobia, which is fear of all reptiles.

I am sorry that the avatar offends you, it is much more common for some fellow Rangers to be offended by some of my attempts at humor and the saying may well apply " A smile is the chosen vehicle of all ambiguities "

Potential transmission issue question.

I was braking to a stop at an intersection the other day and the truck jolted forward mid-stop/breaking almost as if I had been re-ended by another car.

Has anybody ever experienced anything like this or maybe is aware of anybody posting a similar incident?

I had a similar thing happen when at a 4 way stop. Just coming to a complete stop and it lurched forward and I initially thought my foot had slipped off the brake and hit the throttle. When I realized I hadn't it was very unnerving to realize the truck did it by itself. Moved me forward a few feet but fortunately didn't hit anyone.

I've experienced some rough downshifts when the transmission was cold.

D, Tow/haul, or S?

This describes what I felt.

Just D. Relatively cold trans as I was just leaving work and had only driven roughly 400 yards.

Mine is a little jerky when getting to a stop.
So, I decided to do some tests!
I put in 'N' a few times while stopping & it was silky smooth stopping.
I figure it's the downshifting???
This happens when it's cold/hot/sunny/snowing.
I don't like automatics.
I remember back in the 80's, driving my dad's car, winter, choke on, first stop sign in winter with snow, it would just push
through the stop, had to put in neutral to stop at the line.
Things are the same, just different.

How’s the truck been since this occurrence?

It happened once or twice since I originally posted, but not as bad as that one kick that got my attention. Since that post, I've had it in the shop for a trans flush and filter. I also got them to reset the KAM (keep always memory) so that the transmission would relearn. Things have been going smoothly but it's only been a couple of weeks of regular commuting for work (only 4.7 miles each way three days a week) and one 4 hour trip locally (1 hour interstate each way with three hours of slow off-road driving).

Glad it’s going better for you ?. These machines are very fickle.
