Were you downloading from the Ford site to get the update? Maybe the stick was not setup properly.

I have long since given up on the Ford updates and use the Cyan Labs SYN3Updater app. It formats the USB stick and downloads the files into the proper locations on the stick. No unzipping, or moving files. Just take the finished stick and plug it into the truck and it works. Oh and no bother with uploading a file back to Ford, Which never really worked anyway. They will figure out what version you have eventually anyway.
Hadn't heard of that, what does Cyan charge and have you had or heard of issues? I'd be surprised if not, its still the Ford Sync system!

I'm so disappointed with my fellow forum members ... =(

No, not in key shaming - by the size of my keyring, you can see that I don't have any deficiencies in that area. =p

But in the assumption that the pic was of my entire keychain. C'mon, this is the guy with more SwingCase content than payload! And the 320-pound water-filled winter traction bladder, and the ever-enviable chin chain. =D

Maybe we should start a new thread "Show us your keychain" (that's me, always thinkin'). =D

Okay, school's in, sit down, and learn:

usually only use the Ford key which also has the SwingCase key and hitch pin key. hmm, I have another there that needs to be moved. oh, and a red Chipolo

The top, with the white Chipolo, are house and lock keys, and then Kate's spare Mazda key.

I rarely carry more than the Ford key since I only drive the truck in and out of the driveway, and sometimes live the dream with a dump run.

Gotta have a coin to solve disputes, this was my dad's and is at least 60 years old, might even go further back to his service in the Navy. But open at your own risk and be at least 18 (chronologically, not mentally).

Oh boy, that's great news! I always do the USB but only because it never was able to connect to Wi-Fi.

I use a 64 GB but I also have the lower Sync. Under $10 and on my keyring only for Ford Updates.

It is still the Ford SYNC system. Cyan Labs simply gets the files from Ford and takes care of formating the USB stick as required and downloading the files into the proper location/folders for you. No hassle of downloading a zipped file and unzipping it and making sure they are located properly. Just tell it what version you want and if you have NAV or not.

It doesn't cost anything

FINAL UPDATE:

I don't mean to interrupt the key talk, but I did download the update through the ford website onto a 32 GB USB, plugged it into the truck and let it run for 30 mins, did the soft reset (Seek Fwd + Radio power), and now everything works and is back to normal.
Thanks guys!

LOL!!!! My Dad had one of those coins too! Racking my brain now trying to remember if I ended up with it. And if so, where did I put it??? Going to have to do a bit of home searching.

Too funny. Thanks for the little trip down memory lane.
