Wife got in a wreck.

So my wife got rear ended Friday. Looks like the frame is fine just the bumpers (front and rear). Do you think it’s repairable?

I’m a little worried they might total it. A coworker said that due to demand for trucks they are totally them, then repairing them and reselling

As long as your wife is ok...that's the important thing.
But, looks like much more than just the bumpers. Hit hard enough to force bed into cab rear. Your bed rail set up also looks tweaked on the drivers side, and drivers side of the bed looks a bit lower than passenger side. Thinking a lot more than just bumpers.

Yes luckily everyone was ok. She stopped for a stopped car and someone hit her forcing her into the car in front of her. Wife, 2 kids and our yellow lab are all safe and sound.

Well that's the most important thing is that everyone is ok. A truck can be replaced, loved one can't. It's hard to tell the extent of the damage from the pictures but I would wait and see what the adjuster says and get a couple estimates too.

That's good news Matt. It's hard to say if it's totaled until the body shop person can get under the truck to look at the frame. The thing that looks bad is the hit was hard enough to push the bed into the cab.

BTW, I don't know where your co-worker came up with that information about reselling wrecked trucks. Insurance companies don't deal in resales, and if it's totaled they just send off to the junk yard. But, it's a good story nevertheless.

Hi Matt,

Glad everyone was okay... Box headboard hit the cab back panel....not good as it stayed bent...box is not rubber mounted so something had to bend or flex. I am thinking there is a bit more to this than meets the eye via a couple pix... I do think it is likely repairable and won't be totaled. Price to fix is likely to astound you. Daughter had a bumper rake the side of her Escape, driver's side door and rear door...mild crease. $5,125....
