You're supposed to drive up on the curb over the gutter grating so you can drain both oil and radiator fluid at same time...flows better:inspect:
Years ago I drilled a bunch of holes in the catalytic converter on a Chevette to ease some exhaust issues. It also happened to be on Earth Day.

I'm so hurt. I was once a minimum wage grease ball at a dealership. 16 years old at the time. I think I'll stop crying in a minute or two ?.
sorry we all started somewhere. my first job was $2.70hr washing dishes in a bar for 2 months. who knew I'd spend the next few decades cooking around the country

I was a dishwasher too and almost went to CIA to become a chef. At the time the male/female ratio at the school was 7:1 so I figured it wouldn't be much fun for me at school. Now I'm a software engineer. ;)

You may be lucky. I can't imagine why an oil change would take an hour. If the $12hr tech was having that much difficulty, what may (s)he forgotten to do during the process? There may be a Ranger running around with the wrong grade oil, loose shield, drain plug etc.
I'd go on their website and leave them a honest review, as I'm sure you won't be back there with any of your other vehicles and neither should any other Ranger owners and their other vehicles.
I was gonna say it doesn’t take an hour to do an oil change. That’s crazy. I think it took me 20-25 minutes at the most to do my own.

The best option is to go to your nearest dealer and get the works package. Normally I do my own oil changes, but my local dealer does the oil, oil filter, tire rotation, and tops off the fluids for $50! I don't know about pricing local to you, but I can't do it myself for cheaper than that!

My dealer gave me FREE service for the first three years. So I got it.

Had "The Works" done this morning ahead of a road trip. In and out in 30 minutes.

I called ahead to my local Mobil1 (Rockland Maine) quick lube and was told to come right over.

After a short wait I was waived into the bay and after another short wait I was asked to leave because the manager says "No" to new Ford Rangers since they are a hassle to work on and the last one took over an hour and held up their line. I love my truck. This is purely a rant on folks who consider their professional obligations as "hassles", and "not worth the aggravation".

What a waste of time. I even called ahead, and they still got me. Does this happen anywhere else (to anyone otherwise than myself)?

The next place I called put me on hold to set up an appointment and after 28 minutes of VIP ads I hung up.

I don't have a garage and don't want to lay on ice and frozen dirt to do this myself, but maybe snowmobile suits are on sale somewhere...
The Valvoline Instant Oil Change place here in Nashua told me that they don't do the new Rnagers because 'you have to take the driver's side wheel off' !! I corrected them but they still refused, 'they take too long'. :-( It's too bad, I've been taking my trucks there for years. The local dealer wait times and turn around times are ridiculous (and their attention to detail is about the same (C+ at best) as everywhere else).

I went to my local place today and they changed the oil just fine. He had a little difficulty with the filter because it was the first one he had experienced and he apologized for the extra five minutes it took. I told him it was no problem and he said that at least he'd be quicker now that he had faced one.

I wouldn't trust a minimum wage grease ball changing my oil anyways. It isn't too dificult after you get the first change out of the way. I do understand not laying in snow and ice, though. Maybe get your supplies ready for a warm day?
It does have some benefits if you stick with it. I graduated with a title. 'Petroleum Transfer Specialist'. Master certified. It took over half my life to achieve it, but sooo worth it. Not!

I took my truck in for the 10k service and tire rotation. My service writer was cute and adorable. waited an hour and a half. Stalked her on Facebook. She has a boyfriend. I'm crushed.

Took a look at the SCA Black Widow F150's they had in the lot. Just too damn big! I'm 6'3" and the interior of the roof was over my head. I walked over to look at the Rangers in the lot and thought they were tiny. Such tiny little trucks. Then I realized, I drive one of those tiny little trucks. I went back inside. When my truck was ready, driving it home, it didn't feel like a tiny little truck. It felt like it always did. It fit me.

I guess I'm not compensating for something I lack, after all.
