Mine only has 4 also (no middle ones). 11/19 build date.

Havent needed them yet so ill buy em when I regularly need them, which will probably be never. Box is so short and straps are plenty long. Your mileage may vary.

I believe they eliminated the middle ones for 2020
Mine’s a 2019
I picked up a pivot tool box for my 2019 Lariat. The instructions specify to remove the tie downs on the back of the bed and just behind the wheel well, put the bracket in place securing it by replacing the brackets and bolts removed. My truck (factory spray in bed liner) was missing the tied downs behind the wheel well. Anyone else have this issue? BTW, the spray was a pain in the butt to remove from the bolts and screw holes.
Got the two missing ties downs. Dealer gave them to me for half price. I picked up a tap at the hardware store to clear the holes of the spray in liner. Quick and easy!

Good for you. You have a good dealership.

I know there are lots of theads about the missing tie downs. I see where someone posted the part numbers (thank you!), but am shocked at the prices I am seeing for the parts - about $80 for the two tie downs and four bolts. Has anyone found discounted prices anywhere for the tie downs and bolts?

I was shocked by the price too! Bought the 2 Ford hooks, but saved some money by buying the 4 bolts from Lowe’s for about $4 for 4. Bolts are M8 X 1.25 mm (thread pitch)X 20 mm (length).

I used the Ford Pass points. At least I can use those and not currency.

If it were me, I'd buy the bolts from Lowes and some generic tie down hooks, you could put two on each location.

Link to thread with Ford Tie Down P/N's and Instructions

Cheapskate move on Ford's part. Other manufacturers have some pretty elaborate tie down configurations.. what does Ford do? Eliminates 1/3 of their tie downs?

Good news is most dealers will work with you on this. Our Dealer wrote it up as a "Service Warranty Claim" and I installed them myself.

Happy Trails..

Maybe a stupid question
But do you people not check the vehicle before taking it ?????
seems most read the threads but then say when they collected their vehicle it was missing
very bizarre

I just bought mine this week. I looked at all of the other Rangers on the lot and none had hooks in the middle of the bed. I actually wondered what the bolt holes were for... Thought they might be for some other type of accessory. Same as I wonder what the bolt holes near the top of the bed near the cab are for.

We drove 283 miles, one way, to pick up our Ranger. I never thought to ask them to count the number of bed tie downs before we headed that way...... ;) I didn't know it was even a "thing" at the time (Sept 13, 2019).

and it wasn't a big enough deal to drive back home another 283 miles empty handed.

Our dealer made it right. They were glad to have our business. Even if they didn't, an XL SuperCab with the FX4 package is a rare bird where we live. No worries.

Pretty sure if I bought a pickup I would look to see if it had tie downs
my ranger gets used for carrying things of all shapes and sizes
wouldn’t want it moving around the bed so always strap,it down
