Still no 60/40 split for the rear seat for the Maverick. As stated numerous times here....wish the Ranger had the 60/40.

I would assume packaging differences between a front wheel drive (car chassis) and a rear wheel drive truck would affect what the engineers have to work with in seat/floor designs and available room.

Where was this dude when the Ranger was in development? Sheesh!
I thought the same thing when I first saw them. There's a good chance I would have ordered one of those instead of the Ranger. Love my Ranger, but the Maverick would fit in just fine with the way I use my trucks these days.

I really wish they had of done a better job on the Ranger, period.
*Invisible climate control switches, poorly placed, poorly lit.
*No provisions for adding supports for hauling lumber
*Four tie down hooks when six were advertised
*Almost useless under seat storage
*Stupid tail-up stance making loading difficult
*Totally ineffective rear shocks
*Express up and down on only one window
*Drivers seat will go forward enough to touch the dash but won’t go back enough for six foot driver.

and this is the short list
I don’t disagree with most of what your post, especially about the climate controls, but do disagree with the seating. I am 6’1” and have more than enough room to go back. It’s probably the most comfortable seating I’ve ever had! But I crank the seat up because I like the higher seating position rather than a low seating position like in a car.

Funny thing I’ve been noticing is the draw to use the understorage for sports equipment and dirty clothes… that’s what my my bed is for??‍♂

People that complain about their Rangers and lack of storage, did you not do basic research on this truck or even do a proper walkthrough of the truck before purchasing it? I spend days researching a vehicle before buying, watching videos, etc. when I get to the dealership, before I even test drive I do a thorough walkthrough of the vehicle and check everything out inside and out to make sure it’s a right fit for me before I even consider going forward. Just seems common sense. I went in knowing the drawbacks of this truck, and was fine with it. Matter of fact I knew more about the truck than the salesman which was pretty sad.

Adjust your telescoping steering column all the way forward and raise your seat up higher to create more arm and leg room. Front leg room is about as good as it gets; 43.1" vs 43.9" for the F-150.

I too thoroughly researched all of the current mid-sized pickups before I purchased the Ranger. I was aware of some of the shortcomings of the Ranger but overall it was the best value for the money and I would purchase it again.

Having said that, I too would prefer better controls for the climate controls, a front mounted camera, cooled seats, a solid rear window, and better storage under the rear seat. It is OK to complain about those items that are not perfect in your own opinion and still be pleased with your purchase.

I'm with you, I'm 6'4" with a 38' inseam and I don't have the seat all the way back. For a midsized ( lol ) it's got plenty of room.

I agree the at the climate controls are a pain in the butt to see during the day, but I just hit the voice button and say "set temperature to 68". Problem solved for me.
I ordered the STX Special Edition Package for the 8" touch screen and Sync3, otherwise not available on an XL. Voice command and Climate ControI on the screen. I had Sync 2 or 3 on my Flex so I was familiar with the menus.

Yeah, that's why I said "problem solved for me." I know not everyone has that option and I think Ford needs to fix the issue with the climate controls. Every vehicle has it's minor quirks and problems but I don't think any of the quirks on the Ranger is earth shattering.
