Absolute worst thing to use on lug nuts, especially the OEM two piece ones. Torqueing unevenly can also warp brake rotors and crack alloy wheels.
True, I use a Torque Extension going on, at 90 ft/lbs. and a torque wrench for the final pass. It is really fast and has adjustable settings.

You might want to get a quality torque wrench involved. As to the breaker bar, Harbor Freight is the Harbor Freight of tools so there's that.
I know they're not the best but I've had great luck with HF tools. My sockets are old craftsman back when they were usa made, but stuff I rarely use I get good enough results out of HF. I've had a breaking bar for 20 some years an I've put a 3 ft pipe on it an stood my 220 lb @$$ on it an it was fine. I keep it in the back of the bronco with a 19mm socket in case of a flat. I have a baur impact I bought when they first launched the brand an I use the F out if it an it's still rockin'. I have one of their stepped drill bit sets an they are good. I've drilled 3/8" steel plate with them. their regular bits are junk though.

I have a few grand worth of snap on and mac stuff I got when my brother passed away. He worked at a dealership an used his tools hard every day so it made sense for him. I have the 3/8 an 1/2 impact guns an the cheap battery guns are good enough for me now a days.

Yeah, when quality, precision, and longevity just won't do.....there's Harbor Freight !!!
I had a HF 24" breaker bar fail on me. No fun at all when you are applying max force and it gives way.

If you are careful you can find excellent quality tools at HF. The Icon Professional wrenches, both SAE and Metric sets are surprisingly good. Well made and exceptionally strong. But they weren't inexpensive either (but still a better buy than the name brand stuff like Snap-On).

I picked up a set of Craftsman Overdrive Wrenches ($75 / Set) for much less than the HF ICON set ($130 / set) which performed better than the Icon set but not as good overall as the Snap-On ($500 / Set).

They were absolutely the best bang for the buck. Here's a video of wrenches being tested - Snap On, HF ICON, Pittsburgh, and the Craftsman Overdrive set.

When I replaced my lugs I had the same question. But I was assured I had the right ones and so far have not had any issues. By the pic, if you look closely on the original, it looks like it doesn't make contact any further than what the replacement would. The original looks overly big due it being a 2 piece design, and requires extra material to cover the base metal.
These are what I am using:

So these are beefier than the skinny ones shown here correct? I have them and can't stand.

I got a set of splined lug nuts in black as part of my chrome delete project. Got a few done when I took a closer look. The bearing surface that contacts the wheel is about 1/3 to 1/2 of the factory lug nuts. I feel it should contact the full length of the available wheel surface, so I put the old ones back on. Thoughts?

I have those skinny black ones on the left that I'd like to replace with something wider? I have KMC wheels so don't know if this presents an issue.

It's not an issue...I have long splined black lugs and they're AOK for last 130K miles...

BTW...does it annoy anyone else when you start to reply in a thread but abort...then reply again later to another post in the same thread, what ever you typed before is automatically added to your new reply? The only way to prevent this is to post it anyway then delete the post before responding again in the thread...am I missing something?

Not sure I understand the question. Beefier? Compared to what, stock? The stock lugs seem wider (beefier?) but due to the extra layer of cosmetic shiny material do no good for strength. The lugs from Amazon I use seem skinnier, but fully engage the lug pocket in the wheel, or so it seems. They take torque just fine. The aftermarket lugs take the same wrench size as stock (3/4") so I can't see how they would be inferior in any way. They are actually superior due to the fact they will not distort, expand or whatever like stock lugs.

No, to the skinny black ones shown in the pic in this thread.

I swapped out the black set like you have here on the left for these from Amazon based on another member's recommendation. So far they seem to fit fine. I like being able to use just a standard 19mm socket to get them on an off now without needed the special socket that is needed for those skinny ones. These Amazon ones are beefier which is what I wanted. They are look better.

I like those. I had a store credit so I ordered the FPP lug nuts. I am saving that item in my Amazon list for future reference.

If I understand you, the reply is automatically filled with previous written (words/ text) and not posted - yet

I get around this by - backspacing or highlight & delete (written text) and then click delete draft.
You should see -Write Your Reply (if general reply) or (cursor under - Quote) if replying to a member post - so clear the text menu (before) you post

If I understand what you are describing - this is how I handle that

My FRUSTRATION is the popup in the lower right corner (usually video) and my cursor will disappear and sometimes will move to another line of text (then the words) will get merged with previously written text or just get lost completely and I have to grab the mouse and (Re-Click) to get the cursor on then typing line I am on. (GRRRRR)
It makes it worse as I am a (Look at the Keyboard & Type) only to look up to find (WTF) and have to retype what I thought - I had typed, is hidden somewhere - as it is certainly not on my screen. ?‍♂
Hey, I took a typing class in 7th grade - taught to use the home keys - but I never grasp at that time that Computers would be taking over the world.
