I didn't read much of this thread.....just to the point where you hooked up the charger......DON'T DO THAT DURING ANY TUNE FLASHING OPERATIONS!!!

If you DON'T want to have problems when installing your Livernois tune.....unplug and turn off EVERYTHING and close all windows and doors......I've been flashing back and forth with these specific tunes for the better part of 3 years and 65K.....I know what I'm talking about...

BTW...you have a 21' Ranger and were worried about battery strength.....I have a 19', same battery since I bought her in Feb 20'......I can go flash my tune right now and not worry a bit about my battery....quit worrying about so much stuff....your Livernois calibrator is pretty forgiving.

Thanks for your concern. However I hooked up the charger before I even plugged in the tuner. The voltage when I finished was something like 12.06V. The directions provided by Livernois explicitly state not to let the voltage drop below 12V. The instructions also state to hook up a charger if there is a concern about battery voltage. I only used the charger for the 20+ minute stock tune download. I am not using it to flash the tunes.
Relax.

Well still waiting for the tunes with A/S/S enabled, but I installed the 91-93 soft shift performance tune last night. Holy crap! There so much more available power it's unreal!
Good to know. I guess my next question is, does the soft shift tune make the tranny shift softer than stock?
Thank you for the feedback, glad to hear you've been enjoying the tune! Your tuner is now ready to update online again to replace your tunes with the updated versions to re-enable start stop. I've sent a reply back to your request ticket from Tuesday night also. The softer shift versions will still shift firmer than stock as well, just not as firm as the performance tuning.

Relax.
Believe me.....I stay relaxed my man....cuz I LOVE my job....lol.
Anyway, the ONLY reason I said anything is I have had hiccups on flashing when I first started running a tune. Honestly, I've never paid a bit of attention to battery charge level and I have had zero issues. I have had issues with ANYTHING being plugged in......usb cable, radar detector......ANYTHING. Just trying to make sure you have a trouble free experience with your MyCalibrator.....

No prob, but if you had read further, you would have seen I had no issues and am happily running the 91-93 performance tune. I am an electrical engineer and am accustomed to researching the hell of things before I act. I am well aware of disconneting and turning off everything. I had ZERO hiccups! I do leave the volt meter plugged into the 12V outlet, which led me to worry about the voltage to begin with. It would probably would not have been an issue without the charger, but better safe than sorry.

Just FYI, twice I had issues downloading the tunes to MyCalibrator. I think it was my VPN. The second set of downloads I paused the VPN and they came right through.

I have ran the 87-89 tune an 91-93 tune. I put the lower octane tune back in when gas prices shot up. I swear the shift strategy in the high octane tune better. I have never updated my tuner in over 2 years. I got 3 tunes when I bought mine: the tow an the two octane firm shift tunes. I may request the soft shift an see if the shifting is less noticeable (hanging in gear on intermediate throtte)

My bad for not reading further....also, since you are a EE I completely understand.....lol. My grandfather was a Master Electrician back when there were many less than now.....he was very detailed with anything electrical. I was an electronic tech/instrument specialist on C-130's in the Air Force. You could say I have an extensive electrical background....especially for a biologist....lol.
Anyway, glad you are up and running! That is the tune I've been running as a daily driver for the past 3 years. LOVE IT (and so does the Mrs.) and wouldn't want to drive around my Ranger as a stock truck anymore for sure.

I was torn this morning between taking the Harley or driving my recently tuned Ranger. It was fairly warm here so the Harley won. I don't think I have ever ridden in Feb. before. Yeah, stock tune? Meh!

This may be a stupid question but how do you get the truck equipped with push button start into run mode. I have a 22 tremor with the push button and foot off the brake pushing button once enters accessories mode pushing again just shuts everything off. A regular key would be the second position. I've just received my livernois tuner but can't figure out how to get into run mode. Any help would be appreciated.

Just push it once and then make sure everything is turned off like the radio and hvac. Don't touch the brake or windows or locks and you'll be good. When I did the stock upload I opened the drivers window and left the MyCal on the seat so I could look in every so often so see where it was at. It should take about 20 minutes or so to upload the stock tune.

OK thanks for the fast reply. So the accessories and run mode are both with one push of the button. Just found that odd because when I Google searched it seems all other manufacturers have 3 shares to the button just like you would have 3 positions on a regular turn key.

It will start if you have your foot on the brake. Otherwise just push it and it will go into accessory mode.
